NOTES FROM PAUL
“Come to me, all you who labor and
are burdened, and I will give you
rest.” On the weekend that we
celebrate Independence Day I hope
all of you “who labor and are
burdened” find some rest. Classically
this is a weekend where we get
together with family and friends to
grill, maybe have a drink or two and
watch some fireworks. This year may
look a little different for some of us,
but I hope we all remember to thank
God for both our labor and our rest
every Fourth of July. As summer
starts, I hope we get more than just
hot weather, I hope that God will
bring us rest from the burdens of our
world. I pray that each one of our
parish family, and all of your
families will have a great summer.
God Bless you,
Paul Zbytowski
Pastoral Associate
YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS
The High School Youth Group has
been meeting weekly via zoom since
the lock down started. Everyone
really missed each other so we were
finally able to have our first socially
distanced outdoor meeting in the
parking lot on Monday, June 22.
We are calling the meetings “Youth
Group Fireside Chats”. Teens are
asked to bring their own chair,
mask and something to drink if
they would like. Bottle water and
individual size snacks are also
provided. We are able to pray
together and have some fellowship
time. Reminder—no one is allowed
in the parish center building at this
time.
Since we are in these challenging
times, if you are feeling sick or have
a temperature we ask that you do
not attend in respect for everyone
else.
Meeting times for “youth group
fireside chats” will be 7:30pm-
9 : 3 0 p m a n d a re w e a th er
permitting. If you are in Grades 9-
12, you are welcome to join us!
We continue to make ongoing plans
for our "new" normal for the
summer months. If you want to
make sure you have the most
current information on what is
happening in youth ministry,
please contact me so I can add you
to our flocknote emails and text
message communications.

Queen’s Quotes from
Religious Formation
July Greetings and Salutations,
A Summer Blessing
for Reflections
Take time to claim your strength;
they are gifts from God.
Take time to have fun; God’s way
of teaching you your strengths.
Take time to grow yourself;
only you can grow you.
Take time to trust yourself;
God trusts you.
Take time to be self-reliant;
It is better than being dependent.
Take time to share with others;
They will bless you,
and you will bless them.
Take time to have hope;
You are a child of God.
Let’s put ourselves into the
hands of the Lord, and pray
that God will bless us and our
families during the wonderful
months of summer.
May we all help make our home
a place of relaxation, joy,
peace and safety.
May we be generous and
considerate, not thinking only
about ourselves but helping
others enjoy the blessings
of a summertime.
Lord God, Creator of all things,
guide our steps and strengthen our
hearts, during these last months of
summer. Grant us refreshment of
mind and body.
We ask this through Christ our
Lord. AMEN.

Faith Like A Child
If you Google Search recommendations on how to raise generous children, almost every list of ideas begins with —
or at least contains — the directive for adults to be good models of generosity themselves. Our children learn from
our actions much more than from our words. Of course, when I think back over the years while my children were
growing up, I think I may have learned as much from them as they learned from me. There is a time between early
childhood and middle school where a child seems to be freer to give and share than at any other time in life. It is
around the age of First Communion when the cries of “mine” turn to laughter and smiles, and the urge to be a part
of something bigger than oneself leads to sharing. Before you know it, the child hits the pre-teen years, and once
again, he or she becomes the center of the universe.
I believe that the previous paragraph is all true, however, the stages described seem to repeat themselves through-
out adulthood. Don’t you agree? Sometimes we fall into seeing ourselves as the center of the universe, or we become
consumed by our state in life or with what we have acquired. Also, we at times are generous and loving people. It is
sin that draws us back into ourselves and away from any meaningful life of stewardship and generosity. In order to
be freed for love, we need role models to help us see what really matters. We need to reflect on the example of many
of our brothers and sisters in Christ. And, yes, we need to look to children who may be at the point in their lives
where sharing is fun, and love is something in abundance.

My Jesus, I believe that you are
present in the Most Holy
Sacrament. I love you above all
things and I desire to receive you in
my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive you sacramentally, come at
least spiritually into my heart. I
embrace you as if you were already
there and unite myself wholly to
you. Never permit me to be
separated from you. Amen.

Those older than 65 years old (the recommended CDC age), with a compromised health condition or
caring for the sick in any way, are encouraged to stay home. Anyone who is ill, has a temperature,
cough, etc., should definitely stay home as an act of justice to the whole community. Clergy with a
respiratory infection of any kind should avoid celebrating public Masses or administering the
sacraments . The same applies to other ministers, e.g., deacons, lectors, ushers, etc. Although the faithful
are dispensed from their Sunday obligation to attend Mass, they must observe the Lord’s Day and are encouraged
to spend time in prayer on Sunday, meditating on the Lord’s passion, death, and resurrection (an excellent way to
do this is through participating in a broadcast of the Sunday Mass) or participating in a spiritual or corporal act of
mercy.
