YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!BECOME A VOLICE FOR THE
UNDOCUMENTED
One of the most important principles of Catholic Social Teaching is: “ The dignity of every human person.” The Bishops have addressed this in their more recent document: “Strangers No Longer: Together On the Jouney of Hope” [email protected] . For the last few weeks a few of our parishioners have come together in an effort to become more informed on their plight of estimated eleven million undocumented immigrants in our country; many, who have become our neighbors and friends. Several parishes in the Archdiocese of Detroit have established teams to work with and for immigrants. Saturday afternoon, April 28th 1:00-6:00 at U of D /Mercy Ignatius Chapel there will be a retreat based on helping parishes to form parish teams to keep the momentum going. If you feel you could give a little time to finding some resolution to this issue, please contact the Faith Formation Office (313-382-1818 or [email protected]
Some families have made the Rice Bowl
collection part of their Lenten Journey. This practice helps to alleviate the suffering of many throughout the world who are not as blessed as we are. Catholic Relief Services is a very reliable agency that really reaches into the most neglected and poor areas of the world. Your bowls should be returned to the Faith Formation Office by April 8th.

Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed. For they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead. - Jn 20:8-9

For your choice of meal reserva-tions, please call Karen Roberts at 734-479-5900 Saturday, April 28, 2018 Topic: Music Therapy and De-mentia The area of the brain that deals with music is the last to be touched by dementia. Therefore, music can be used to reach people profoundly affected by dementia. This session will teach you how to use music to stimulate memories in your loved one. We will watch clips of demen-tia patients coming “alive” when presented with their favorite music. We will demonstrate personal mu-sic devices that are available for this purpose.
Subiaco Retreat Reflections Our high school youth are back from their retreat in Oxford last week-end at the St. Benedict Monastery - Subiaco Retreat House. We could defi-nitely feel all of your prayers while we were there because it turned out to be an amazing, heartfelt experience of our Catholic faith and community. Over the next few weeks we will share some short reflections from our teens and how the experience brought them peace, rest, and renewal. Thank you for your prayers! CYO Camp Clean-up Weekend
The CYO Camp Clean-up Service Project in Port Sanilac, Michigan, a Teen Forum favorite, will be held April 20th
-22nd this year. Camp Cleanup weekend is free and open to all youth who are willing to work for their food. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors while serving the kids who will be attending the camp in the summer. If you’re hesitant, don’t be . . . the bonfires on the beach and nightly hot chocolates make it all worth-while! Permission slips and medical release forms are required and must be turned in by Monday, April 16th. Pick them up at our Teen Forum meet-ing, on the bulletin board, or on the Teen Forum! Facebook page. We ask parents to please consider helping with the driving and to experience CYO Camp with us and your teen! World Youth Day Panama Updates Trivia Night Challenge: The 2019 World Youth Day Pilgrims will be sponsoring a Trivia Night Challenge on Saturday, May 5th, beginning at 6pm in the gym! The cost is $20 per person (includes dinner and trivia). For dinner, we are planning a delicious “Cinco de Mayo” Mexican meal! You can reserve a table for a team of up to 8 people, or come with a small-er group (or even by yourself – we’ll set you up with a team). Some fun prizes will be awarded to the team who answers the most questions cor-rectly. One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a ton of fun, so start gathering your teammates now! Tickets will be sold in the gathering area the week-end of April 21-22 and 28-29. You can also call Holly in the Parish Office! Prayers and Pilgrim Feet for Panama: Over the Easter season, we will be inviting you to sponsor our youth going to World Youth Day, Panama and to have your prayer requests taken with us to be blessed by Pope Francis. In the Gathering Area simply choose an envelope from the board and write your name and prayer requests on the “pilgrim footprint” inside. Place the footprint back into the envelope along with the sponsorship donation amount printed on the outside and return the envelope to the Parish Office or place it in the offertory basket during Mass. Know that we will be pray-ing for you and your prayer requests throughout our time of preparation and at World Youth Day in Panama. When we return, you will be invited to a gathering to see photos and hear stories from our pilgrimage. As al-ways, we greatly appreciate your support! Teen Forum Calendar at a Glance

Happy Easter! The Youth Ministry Team
Youth Ministry Corner Happy Easter! This is truly our “feast season!” We are Resurrection people . . . people that rise again with Jesus from sadness, sorrow and pain . . . the small (and sometimes not so small) “deaths” we experience in everyday life. We are people of hope, knowing that even in our brokenness, we can experience true joy through life with Christ. Easter lasts for 50 days . . . 10 days longer than Lent. This is important because we celebrate longer than we repent. We feast longer than we experience famine. Continue to celebrate Easter throughout these next several days. After all, they are our feast days. We are Easter people! Alleluia!

LIVE THE LITURGY
Christ is risen indeed! We have arrived at the penultimate feast on the Church's calendar, the cause of our joy and our hope. Life has de-feated death. Sorrow and suffering do not have the last say. In the res-urrection of Jesus we see many reasons to rejoice. Not only has Jesus conquered the specter of vis-ible death, but he restores to us graced life. On Holy Saturday, Jesus descended to the dead and delivered the just souls into heav-enly paradise. What are our own Saturday tombs? Jesus has the power to open them all. That is our invitation, this day most of all. May resurrection joy fill your heart, your family, your work-place, and your community.
Happy Easter!
