From Guns ‘n’ Roses to Kiss, the music heated the dance floor. It was supposed to be a unique party and it more than met that expectation. Unconventional music and a nice building in the middle of a yard created the core of this unforgettable event. upcoming

A day filled with inter-committee presenta-tions and touring the city will end with quite an evening programme. After the Eurocon-cert, in order to inform the delegates about the water issue, a movie “Blue gold: World water wars” will be shown. This will be use-ful for delegates wanting to know more about one of the most relevant issues nowadays. Apart from the connection to the session theme “Breaking Waves – Young Europe-ans on the Waterfront”, the movie might also provide some great defence and attack speech material!

OLYMPIC UPDATEby Ilias -Marios Oikonomou (GR)

Medal events were scheduled for yester-day in Judo. Only one European male ath-lete, Ilias Iliadis (Greece) managed to win a bronze medal. On the contrary, in the Women’s 70kg category, 3 out of the 4 medals were given to Europeans (gold and one of the bronzes to Germany, silver to France)

In the Men’s 77kg Weightlifting, Lu Xiao-jun (China) recorded a new world record

in Snatch lifting 175kg, which added to his 204Kg in Clean & Jerk move, he also achieved a world record lifting 379kg in to-tal.

Finally, today the cycling track events start. There is also a final included for tomor-row, if you want to check it out at the hotel lobby.

On the JAL long haul back from Kansai In-ternational Airport, my magazine tote was feeling a bit thin. I seized the opportunity to get back to some of the JetSet summer FAQs I was flooded with – thank goodness that there’s a word limit.

I have a long weekend coming up – Lon-don quickie or relaxing in Dubrovnik? It’s the Olympics, how is that even a ques-tion? But this time, try Hvar island: lunch at Konoba Menego, lavender ice cream at Kalavanda, Macondo for dinner. Depend-ing on how young you feel, a 10 minute speedboat ride to Carpe Diem club may or may not be a good idea.

This summer’s pastels are overwhelm-ing me – peach or mint green chinos?Aquamarine. Don’t roll them up more than twice, but make sure to keep your ankles visible.

I’m going to GA on Friday and my suit is wrinkled. My hotel offers a laundry service, but no ironing – what to do?Buy a Porter suitcase and do your research before deciding where to take a room – or if you’re short on time, book through Tab-let (an umbrella website for boutique ho-tels). With taste, time and luck, you might even receive an invitation to their private sale – some hotels are just too good to be public.

DAILY TALENT OF TALLINN ISby Sandra Harney (IE) & Jonathan Engel (DE)

Tallinn’s talent of the day revealed the out-standing abilities of one Mr. Hugo Hoy-land.

We are lucky to have him here in Tallinn seeing as it was the decision to put educa-tion before a professional sports career that kept him off the Olympic team and in EYP instead. You got a teaser of Hugo’s gym-nastic skills in the first episode of Tallinn Media’s videos which aired during the hip-pie party.

He furthermore convinced us to let him appear as the daily talent by performing a spontaneous and remarkable handstand over a bar table. After his flip he provided us with insights into the professional world of gymnastics. With 15 hours of training Hugo still only considers gymnastics to be a hobby, paling in comparison to the 30 hours of training he did once while on path to becoming a professional.
