Competitive Ballroom Dancing:

Numerous Podium positions obtained over numerous years. Most notable are: numerous first positions in Individual

events (only one person is being graded), silver bar medal position in all three competitive styles, podium positions in

level 3 events in interstate competitions, finals positions in numerous international events.

Work Experience:

Anglo American Coal (November, 2015 to February, 2016) – Process Engineering Vacation Intern.

o Internship November, 2015 until February, 2015 as an Anglo American Coal scholarship holder.

o Tasks included: plant processing daily checks, stock figures assessment and transfer, plant observation, device

sampling, maintenance tasks and project work.

Everton Engineering (March, 2011 to April, 2011) - Plasma Cutters Assistant.

o Work experience March, 2011 as part of high school graduation requirement.

o Employed March, 2011 to April, 2011 for vacation work, following successful work experience. Tasks included:

grinding or sanding metallic items cut with a plasma cutter, and operating the automatic saw.

KFC Everton (January, 2011 until present) – All-Star Team Trainer.

o Working 20 hours per week during university semester, close to 30 hours per week on university holidays.

o Promoted to Team Trainer from Customer Service Team Member position in July, 2011 as an exception to policy

which usually only allowed team members who had completed their three month probation period at least six

months previously to be promoted to team trainer position (promoted two months after completion of

probation).

o Promoted to the store’s only All-Star Team Trainer after Food Service training modules were completed in

January, 2012.

o Tasks include: customer service, cash handling, food preparation, regular maintenance and cleaning, goods

receiving, task delegation, oil quality testing, chicken quality testing and pressurised cooking equipment

operation.

Skills Summary:

Leadership Skills:

I have undertaken leadership roles on many occasions, both in an educational and workplace situation. For the past four

years I have held the position of team trainer at KFC Everton Park. As a devoted team member, I also show the initiative

to undertake leadership roles whenever I am able to without being asked or expected to, as to reduce the load on other

team members or management. During my studies, I have been in leadership positions in a number of successful team

projects. I have led these teams through effective communication, rapid and clear organisation and thoughtful delegation

of the tasks requiring completion in such a way as to ensure all team members contribute equally to the project at hand.

Communication and Organisational Skills:

I am direct and to-the-point with task delegation and acquiring foundational information required to quickly and

efficiently complete tasks as a team. I am also capable of keeping team members informed on developments with

projects, and keeping projects on a specific timeline to ensure tasks are completed early, as seen with current team

projects. I have a strong focus on team communication, and the importance of early team organisation.

Teamwork Skills:

When working in an environment such as that at KFC, team work is essential for shifts to operate effectively. As a member

of this team, I also ensure all my efforts are exhausted in effective communication on shift, so that speed of service and

customer care are upheld at all times, and to ensure effective team work from all team members collectively. This is also

the case for the numerous team projects I have led in a university setting, where working as a team to effectively delegate

tasks, resolve issues and solve the task at hand is fundamental for successful project outcomes.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

Sponsorship Executive Officer for the 2016 Metallurgy Trip Committee.

Student Member of IChemE, ChESS, EUS, SPE, MAMA and AusIMM.

Participated in competitive ballroom dancing for approximately 8 years, obtaining numerous podium positions.

Participated in the Instrumental Music Program in primary and secondary schooling for approximately 5 years,

including multiple band involvements and musical camp participations.

Participated in processing plant site tours including Rio Tinto’s Yarwun Alumina Refinery, the Boyne Aluminium

Smelter, BP’s Bulwer Island Crude Oil Refinery, and a Waste Water treatment plant in Brisbane.
