A long time ago vikings came from Scandinavia, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

One leader was called Loki Loose Tooth and two of the vikings were called Josh the Jailer and Odin the Noisy.

They sneaked up to Drumcliff Round Tower near Ennis. The monks didn’t see the vikings coming to attack.

The Vikings stole the Holy book from the monastery.

The monks ran into the round tower, up the stairs and threw rocks at them.

The Vikings lit a fire at the bottom of the round tower.

Luckily, it started to rain and the fire went out.

Next they tried a battering ram but the wall was much too thick.

They looked for a door and made a ladder but the monks just threw hot candle wax at them.

Then they threw a bee hive in the window but the monks just ate the honey and the bees did not harm them.

The Vikings tried to have a siege but it started to snow and they were cold and hungry.

The monks felt sorry for them and they let them in for food and shelter.

The vikings were very happy and apologised. However, one sneaky viking, Odin the Noisy, tried to steal the holy book again.

When they got on the boat, he found out that he only had the cover. The monks still had the holy book!

Soon afterwards, the gods Thor and Loki were looking down from the sky. Loki asked “Do you have another idea brother?” Thor said “Yes attack again!” Vikings will never learn!
