This type of design is a passion of mine and I aspire to combine my engineering and creative skills with this philosophy in mind. I have designed two products, an LED based coffee table and a watch, with focus on the harmony of form and function. These projects have allowed me to utilise my skills in design and electrical engineering. DESIGN
In order to transform the limited, dull space within a student apartment, I have designed and built a fullyfunctional LED based coffee table that displays various animations on an 8x8 matrix display as well assynchronising to music. I am also in the process of building a prototype LED based watch that has beendesigned for manufacture.
ELECTRICAL
The process of making the products I designed has given me experience in creating complex circuitsbased around microcontrollers on breadboards as well as miniaturised versions on printed circuit boards.I also have experience in coding with Verilog and MATLAB as well as basic finite element analysis ofelectromagnetic devices.
MECHANICAL
During summer 2010, I restored the shell and mechanics of a vintage VW camper van and integratedwithin it modern electronics so that its modern day functionality is retained within an iconic design. Thisexperience has given me a much better practical grasp of mechanical engineering. As part of my degree,
I have also designed a forward/reverse gearbox and, as part of a small group, designed and built aperistaltic water pump.
I have possessed a full UK Driving Licence for 2 years.

ACTIVITIES & INTERESTS
SPORT
I adore and regularly partake in many adrenaline based activities such as skiing and kneeboarding. Ialso enjoy playing football and have played for several local teams over the last few years.
OTHER
My main interest is generally learning new things. When I come across something that I do notunderstand, I always become eager to grasp the subject. This curiosity has led me to experimenting withmusic editing, website design, photography, flash animation, app programming, beginning to learn pianoand even attempting to learn how to dance salsa. This is also why I keep up to date on the latest
developments in physics as I am intrigued by the continuous process of finding the answers to greatproblems.
