• Unconventional ways of healthcare practices that is not mainstream. (CAM) tends to focus on the mind, body, and spirit in seeking ways to prevent diseases and restore the whole person to balance so that he or she can regain health.

• Systems of health/healing theory and practice that have evolved independently and long and long before conventional biomedical approaches. Examples of Alternative

Medical Systems are Tradition Chinese Medicine like acupuncture and herbal medicine. Other examples are homeopathy, naturopathy and ayurvedic.

• Practices that uses thoughts, beliefs, and other mental activities to affect the health and functioning of the physical body (including the brain).Examples of mind-body

medicine practices includes meditation, hypnosis, prayer, guided imagery, art therapy, music therapy, emotive writing.

• Plants (herbals) and animal products used as medicinal and dietary supplements

Examples of these products are Ginko biloba, shark cartilage, and probiotics (which are live bacteria that may have beneficial health effects when ingested).

Examples of these practices are chiropractic, osteopathic manual therapy, massage.

Fraud & Quackery

• Many Patients have fall victim to health fraud and quackery because of the urgent seek for shortcuts in improving their health. Highly Targeted people are patients with disease that have no medical cure for their sickness.

• Many of these products sold are unproven, fraudulently marketed, and sometimes useless health care products and treatments.

• Victims of health fraud can deal with adverse effects that are detrimental to their lives.

• People trying to avoid health frauds should look out for red flags like false advertising claims, False labeling on a product, Adverse reaction to a supplement and unlawfulinternet sales.
