Here are just a few examples of the services provided to your community in 2014: 248 Youth participated in programs that build character, citizenship, and develop personal fitness through Boy Scout programs. 193 Girls and young women gained courage, confidence and character through Girl Scout programs. 4 Children were matched one-on-one with positive adult role models who are their friends and mentors through Big Brothers Big Sisters. 101 Youth were engaged in life-enhancing programs that help them grow into responsible, productive adults as part of after-school and summer programs at the Boys & Girls Club. 97 Individuals were either trained in disaster prevention and preparedness or received direct assistance including; meeting basic needs, counseling and referral by the American Red Cross. 30 Individuals, primarily women and their children, utilized crisis intervention services, safe shelter, or support and recovery services for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence through Crisis Line & Safe House. 213 Individuals, couples & families received therapy or attended therapeutic workshops and seminars offered through Family Counseling Center. 395 People received emergency assistance with basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter through the Salvation Army.

24 Armed Forces members and their families received emergency communications or referrals to financial assistance provided by military aid society, referrals and counseling services through the American Red Cross.

2 Domestic violence victims were sheltered in the Salvation Army Safe House.

35 Individuals called the 24-hour crisis hotline available to victims of domestic violence from Crisis Line & Safe House.

1 People received child advocacy for victims of child abuse and neglect offered through Rainbow House.

62 Individuals received social service information and referrals through United Way 2-1-1

5 Food pantries obtained 195,987 lbs. of food from Middle GA Comm. Food Bank for distribution to needy families. This was a savings of $312,599.27 in food costs.
