Jolly Phonics Letter Sounds ­ Multiple User Fix  We’re sorry that you’re running into issues with our app. We have identified the problem and our developers are working on an update.  In the meantime, there is a fix that we have discovered. If you have any problems with this guide or if it doesn’t work for you, please feel free to contact us.   

1) To start with, you will need an app on your device that will let you explore the files on your phone / tablet. We recommend File Commander ­ it’s free from the Google Play Store (though it will try and offer in­app purchases, which you can ignore). The screenshots that follow are taken using File Commander: 

 

  

            

 2) You will now need to delete the Jolly Phonics Letter Sounds app from all users. We need to start from scratch. 

 

  

For this guide we will assume you want the app to work on two user accounts at the same time. We will refer to these two accounts as User 1 and User 2. 

  

                  

3) As ‘User 1’ you need to re­download the app from the Google Play Store. 

  

 4) Once the app’s fully downloaded, run the app to make sure it’s in full working order. Once you’ve confirmed this you need to open the file explorer app that you are using (in this case File Commander) and make your way to: 

 Internal Storage > Android > obb > com.jollylearning.jollyphonicslettersounds 

 Please see the highlighted sections of the screenshots below and tap in the order shown to reach the above location:

 5) In this folder, you should see 1 file. It will have a long name, but end in ‘jollyphonicslettersounds.obb’. You need to copy this item. Do so by pressing and holding on it until a new set of icons appear in the top right­hand corner. You need to press the icon that looks like 2 pieces of paper (as highlighted in the screenshot below). 

 

   

  

6) Now you’ve copied this item, you need to paste it somewhere. We recommend pressing the word ‘Android’ in the top left of your screen: 

 

   

 7) This will take you up to the folder you were just in. From here, you need to press the icon that looks like a clipboard (as highlighted in the screenshot below). You should now see the .obb file. 

 

  

 8) The next thing to do is switch to User 2. As User 2, you need to download the app and install it. This shouldn’t take long, as the phone/tablet recognises that User 1 already downloaded it. 

 

  

9) Now open the app as User 2 and you should see the error. This is to be expected and will be fixed shortly. 

 

  

10) Switch back to User 1 and just check that the app is now faulty here too. It should be. 

 

 11) As User 1 open up the File Explorer app and go to: 

 Internal Storage > Android 

 

  

12) You should see the .obb file you pasted here earlier. We’re about to cut and paste the .obb file into its rightful place. You need to press and hold on the .obb file until the icons change in the top right­hand corner again. Press the icon that looks like a pair of scissors (as highlighted in the screenshot below). 

  

13) Now you need to navigate to the rightful folder. Do this by clicking on:  

Obb > com.jollylearning.jollphonicslettersounds  

 14) Now you’re in the correct folder press the button that looks like a clipboard (as highlighted in the screenshot below) and you should now see that the .obb file is in this folder. 

   

  That’s it! Open up the app as User 1 and, to check everything’s working, open the app as User 2 too.  Once again, we’re sorry that this issue has arisen. An update is in the works. Please let us know if you need any further guidance to get the app working.
