UBC/Ritsumeikan TESL Certificate FAQs Page 1 of 2 Revised: March 2017 Joint TESL Certificate Program Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Kyoto, Japan pdce.educ.ubc.ca/TESL PROGRAM INFORMATION PREREQUISITES LLED 489 (6 credits) is the required prerequisite which must be completed before enrolling in LLED 478C/96A and LLED 399/96A offered in Kyoto. CREDITS LLED 478C/96A is a 6 credit UBC course offered in Japan as part of the joint TESL certificate; LLED 399/96A is the required 3-credit practicum component.
