Join Us for a Talk by Fadela Amara, Former French Secretary of State for Urban Policies Tuesday September 17, 2013, 5:30-7:30pm Bonjour à tous et à toutes ! The Alliance Française de Cincinnati is pleased to present a lecture by Fadela Amara on "The Burqa Ban in France". The event will be held at the Taft Research Center, University of Cincinnati, Edwards 1, Suite 1110, 45-51 Corry Boulevard on September 17, 2013 from 5:30-7:30pm. Ms. Amara was the Secretary of State for Urban Policies in the administration of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and is the founder of "Ni Putes NiSoumises" ('Neither Whores Nor Doormats'). Ms. Amara is a longtime proponent of the "Burqa Ban" which prohibits the hiding of one's face in public spaces. This law became effective in France in April of 2011. This lecture is a rebroadcast of a talk given by Ms. Amara at the University of Chicago in May 2013. Ms. Amara speaks in French with an interpreter. The talk is open to the public without charge.
