John 3:16is for

youFor God so loved the

world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,

but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)

“For God so loved the world…” God is the Creator of the world, and He loves each of us! Are you part of the world? Yes. You can put

your name in there.

“…that He gave His only begotten Son.”

“Begotten” means to be the father to someone. Do you know who is God’s only begotten Son?

It’s Jesus!

“That whoever believes in Him…”

Do you believe in Jesus? If you do, “whoever” refers to you.

The verse goes on to explain how a person who believes in Jesus

“should not perish,” which means he or she won’t be cut off from God and life in heaven, “but have ever-

lasting [eternal] life.”
