Q: How do I get an interview on the day of the job fair? In order to be considered for an interview at the Job Fair, you MUST APPLY before the deadline and meet the minimum requirements and qualifications. Q: Do I need experience to be a Substitute Para Educator? Substitutes do not require experience. Substitute Para Educators must be at least 18years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent; must have SCOE Para Educator Proficiency Test Certificate (SCOE NCLB/ESSA Certificate, CBEST, or transcripts showing AA Degree or higher, or a minimum of 48 units, with date awarded can be substituted for the Para Educator Proficiency Test). Q: What are the requirements to be a Para Educator? Complete the EDJOIN SCOE JOB FAIR Child Development Application; must hold a valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit OR higher level permit. Transcripts showing Associates degree or Infant/Toddler units may qualify you for various Child Development positions. Q: How do I prevent my application from being disqualified? Screening is based on the information provided in the application (Resumes are not reviewed for minimum screening). READ the position announcement carefully! Complete the application THOROUGHLY and be SPECIFIC. AVOID USING "VARIES," "ON CALL," "SEE RESUME" OR SIMILAR VAGUE LANGUAGE. GIVE DETAILED INFORMATION. Q: Can I still attend the Job Fair if I do not apply on-line? Yes, there will be personnel on-site to give you more information about SCOE and our open positions. However, only those who have already applied will be considered for interviews during the Job Fair. Q: Do I have to pay for Fingerprinting during the Job Fair? There will be no charge for Fingerprinting, during the Job Fair only, for individuals that are interviewed at the Job Fair and recommended for either a substitute or permanent position.
