Curriculum Vitae (CV) When searching for a job it is important to be

equipped with necessary tools such as An updated resume or alternatively a curriculum

vitae

A curriculum vitae is similar to a resume, but is primarily used when applying for academic, education, scientific, or research positions.

Also applicable when applying for fellowships or grants.

CV vs. Resume Difference between a CV and a resume

Resume Concise ; brief summation of one’s education, experience, &

skills Usually 1-2 pages

CV A CV is usually longer, at least two pages, more detailed

summation of one’s background, achievements, education, experience, & skills.

Different CV versions for different positions, which also applies to resumes.

Employers, especially overseas, expect to see a curriculum vitae from job seekers applying for prominent positions or grant requests.
