    Reporting of JNUSU Council meeting held on 19-02-2016 started at 11.30 am in which (Incident happened at

    Sabarmati Hostel on 9

    th Feb.2016) the ongoing crisis on the campus in the wake of anti-India and Pro-Pakistan

    sloganeering was discussed in detail. The following resolutions were passed:

    1) The JNUSU condemns the Anti-India and Pro-Pakistan sloganeering on campus in the presence of JNUSU President and some other

    office-bearers. JNUSU also condemns them for not stopping such an act on spot and not filling any complaint against them with the JNU

    Administration or the Police. This shows open complicity in this condemnable act. The JNUSU demands thorough investigation and appeals to

    all members of JNU Community to desist from interfering with the due process of law.

    2) The JNUSU shares the grave concern among the JNU Community about the presence of undesirable outside elements. Therefore, we demand

    that the JNU Administration must take strict action against the illegal residents immediately.

    3) The unfortunate incident on February 9 has sent a wrong message to the entire nation. People are angry and anguished. The attempt by a section

    of JNU Community who interferes with the process of investigation is seen as an open-support to the culprits of the event. This has further

    aggravated the situation and maligned the image of JNU. We want to assure them that the entire JNU disassociates from such condemnable

    incidents and we take the responsibility to act in a manner so that such incidents do not happen in future. JNU is a premiere institution of the

    country and it has brought prestige to the nation at different levels. The JNUSU resolves to restore the image of JNU and ensure its contribution

    in the onward march of country in future.

    4) The JNUSU will work towards identifying, isolating and ensuring punishment for the subversive elements that have brought bad name for JNU.

    5) The JNUSU welcomes the decision to hoist the Tricolour on all the Central University Campus. We demand that JNU administration acts

    immediately on decision and ensure that Tricolour continues to inspire JNU Community.

    6) JNUSU appeals to all responsible students, Teachers, Officers and Karamchari to come together and rebuild the JNU image. We stand by the

    progressive democratic and nationalist legacy of the JNU and we will continue to ensure that this legacy is maintained at all cost. In life of a

    University, there are times when crisis are witnessed but the strength of University lies in over-coming such crisis. JNU has faced such crisis in

    past and its responsible teachers, students and Karamcharis have come together to overcome this crisis. Let us join hands and strengthen the

    glorious tradition of JNU.
