The objective of JNN Medial Mission to Kenya was to provide medicalassistance, education and enhance the livelihoods of the poor peopleof the Kenya.
JNN Foundation is collaborating with several organizations and citizensto help make these initiatives possible.
Our goal is to provide much needed support that will help build a self-sustaining community with an increased quality of life that positivelyimpacts the Kenyan society.
Hunger, poverty and poor health represents a vicious cycle that can bebroken with medical intervention projects such as the one currentlyenvisioned.
Kenya Health Challenges:
Health-care is a big challenge in many Kenyan communities.A significant majority of the population does not have access tohospitals or clinics. Long distances to hospitals or the related costscontribute to making healthcare inaccessible.
The highest populations at risk are women and children- there is ageneral lack of maternal and pediatric support, especially in therural areas. Such routine vaccinations such as TB, measles, polioand meningitis are not administered readily and common diseasessuch as pneumonia, typhoid and malaria may go untreated, contributing to the high infant mortality rate.
Similarly, expecting mothers receive almost no prenatal care, apractice which becomes even more important when HIV/AIDS ispresent in the community.
