Our school wasquite small andnot greatly constructed.

Jim Crow lawswouldn't allow colored students to be in the same class as white students.

This was a signtypically found just aboutanywhere that notified us colored peopleif we were allowed in thisarea or not.

School Shopping

This is the central MontgomeryMall that everyone in the citywould go to, whether to shop orjust to hang out with friends.

The water fountains, justlike many other things in the city were segregated. One side being for the whites, the other for colored.

On The Way Home….

This is the line that we would haveTo wait in in order to get back home.

According to Jim Crow Laws: All passenger stations in this state operated by any motor transportation company shall have separate waiting rooms or space and separate ticket windows for the white and colored races.

According to Jim Crow Laws: All persons licensed to conduct a restaurant, shall serve either white people exclusively or colored people exclusively and shall not sell to the two races within the same room or serve the two races anywhere under the same license

According to Jim Crow Laws: The officer in charge shall not bury, or allow to be buried, any colored persons upon ground set apart or used for the burial of white persons
