JFB PTO at Work for Our Kids
This week, JFB third graders had a visit from the Cincinnati Zoos Wild Writing in-school enrichment program! The children were able to pen a poem, a narrative, a persuasive essay, a letter, or a report after visiting with live Zoo animals in their classrooms! Through close examination and tactile encounters they enriched their writing experience and explored how to write wildly!
This is why we raise funds!

Butterfly Walk for CancerFree Kids
JFB student Becca Kniskern and her team of Becca's Believers will
be joined by Becca's bone marrow donor, Matthew, for the 9th
Annual Butterfly Walk for CancerFree Kids on Saturday, May 9th!
In addition, Becca was asked to design the t-shirt for the walk
this year... so be sure to register early enough to reserve your
shirt featuring Becca's masterpiece!
From the Butterfly Walk website: The Butterfly Walk and 5K is
not your average charity event, it's a celebration of courage. It's
a chance to show your support for children with cancer, and to
help fund lifesaving research. It's a time to remember those who
have passed and a time to celebrate life with an afternoon full of
fun, music, and a festival full of activities for the whole family. Please join us for the 9th Annual
event, and help us reach our goal of raising over $100,000 to fund pediatric cancer research!
FUN FESTIVAL! At the completion of the one mile inspirational walk, it's time to enjoy four hours of festival fun for the whole family. Included with your registration is a wristband for unlimited access to food, entertainment, inflatables, pony rides, games and arts and crafts. The festival is also a great time to check out the raffle table and purchase your tickets for a chance to win some amazing prizes donated by local businesses.

Amaryllis Race Update
For the last several weeks, all of the classrooms at JFB have been participating in an amaryllis race, with assistance from Grannys Garden School in Loveland. After making some scientific predictions, the students began taking care of amaryllis bulbs in early January and have been taking weekly measurements to track their plants growth. Then they have been recording those measurements on a bar graph in the school hallway. Ask your child how his or her plant is growing!
