With as a main goal to provide the highest-quality content for free on the internet, while keeping access to our e-magazinefree to all users worldwide, we believe in free education of every person. Education is the key to building better lives forhundreds of millions worldwide. For us education is a fundamental right that requires free delivery and free access to materialof high quality. But education is definitely the centre of huge economic interests. We believe in free education and we alsobelieve that brands should support, financially and morally, initiatives that want to offer free access and information in orderto promote designers & brands and educate readers for free. They should support "open source" initiatives instead of tryingonly to sell something. To the ones that support us morally we are thankful. One of our goals is to offer free knowledge, by offering free material to people interested in creativity, interested indiscovering the amazing universe, the expertise and vision of famous international maisons. We believe and work with thegoal of raising the awareness of jewellery & watch design as a form of creative expression. FABERGPEARL EGG

Faberg, the worlds most iconic artist jeweller, todayrevives its revered tradition of creating the most preciousand coveted of objets dart. Paying homage to the forthcoming centenary of the lastFaberg Imperial Eggs ever delivered, Faberg has craftedan extraordinary, one-of-kind egg objet in collaborationwith the Al-Fardan family, one of the worlds mostrenowned collectors of pearls. The Faberg Pearl Egg is the first egg created in theImperial Class since 1917 where the Faberg name andthe Faberg family have been united. Pearls have been coveted and treasured for millennia, linked inextricably with royalty, style and status. Faberg isdelighted to celebrate these "jewels of the sea" in theexquisite Faberg Pearl Egg. The Faberg Pearl Egg draws inspiration from the formationof a pearl within an oyster, and the eggs painstakingly-crafted mother-of-pearl exterior opens to reveal a uniquegrey pearl of 12.17 carats, sourced from the Arabian Gulfand exhibiting exceptional purity and a highly unusualshade of grey. Harnessing 20 highly skilled workmasters, the objetembodies 139 fine, white pearls with a golden lustre, 3,305diamonds, carved rock crystal and mother-of-pearl set onwhite and yellow gold. Each pearl adorning the FabergPearl Egg was hand-selected by Hussain Ibrahim Al- Fardanfrom his private collection. An ingenious mechanismenables the entire outer shell to rotate on its base, simultaneously opening in six sections to unveil its treasure. The Pearl Egg is accompanied by a sumptuous Fabergnecklace of white pearls, diamonds and mother of pearlfeaturing a scallop motif, and finished with an exquisite19.44 carat white pearl drop.Hussain Ibrahim Al-Fardan, Chairman of the AlfardanGroup, commented: I have a passion for natural pearls

and it took me many years to build my current collectiongathering some of the most extraordinary pearls in theworld. Faberg has a great history in making jewellery forroyalty and a truly precious Faberg Egg is a luxury treasureand the symbol of a long-gone era of opulence. This is why Ipartnered with Faberg to combine these two traditionaltreasures: the Faberg Egg and natural Arabian Gulf pearls,to create an exceptional piece. Robert Benvenuto, Faberg President, said: We aredelighted to be sharing this historic moment - the unveilingof the Faberg Pearl Egg - with Mr Hussain and Mr Ali Al-Fardan in Doha. It is a distinct pleasure and privilege for meand the Faberg team to have collaborated with them insourcing some of the finest pearls in the world for thiscreation. We hold our partnership, and indeed ourfriendship, with Mr Hussain and Mr Ali Al-Fardan, in thehighest regard. For thousands of years, the most desirable and valuablenaturalpearlscamefromtheArabianGulf, theRedSeaandthe Gulf of Manaar in South East Asia. In the Middle East inparticular, pearl- fishing was the pillar of the regionaleconomy, booming in the 18th and 19th centuries asdemand soared. The introduction of cultured pearls at thebeginning of the 20th century and the exhaustion of oysterbeds in the region contributed to the decline of the pearltrade, and saw the oil industry become the predominantsource of wealth in the Gulf. As a result, natural oriental pearls have become highlysought-after wonders of nature given their beauty andlustre. The Faberg Pearl Egg was unveiled at the prestigiousDoha Watch and Jewellery Exhibition, which took placefrom 23rd to 28th February 2015 at the Qatar NationalConvention Centre, Doha.

Being a family owned business allowsAvakian to respond immediately whenclients call them with urgent requests forcustomised pieces, and in some cases, hand delivery. It means they regularly workwith some of the same stone suppliers andthe same Swiss and Italian workshops whichweve been working with for over 30 years all of them dedicated to remarkablecraftsmanship, be it goldsmithing, enamelling or stone-setting.It also allows them to offer a uniquely

personal service. In particular in BeverlyHills, against Rodeo Drives backdrop ofglobal luxury powerhouses, family-ownedAvakian has a special cachet. Customersvisiting the boutique in the legendaryBeverly Wilshire hotel know they can speakdirectly to a member of the Avakian family. This year, AVAKIAN participated at theDoha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition2015, which was held in Doha fromFebruary 24 to February 28 at the QatarNational Convention Centre. What I hope toconvey with everybracelet or ring, says Patel, is awarm invitation togo where I have beenand see what I havewitnessed aroundthe globe.

    > "As a child, I loved to draw. Drawing wasalways something that came naturally tome. Like many young women, I becamefascinated with the world of fashion. I wouldwatch runway shows, and be particularlymoved by the accessories thatcomplimented each designer's piece. Itwasn't long before my love of art and fashionmerged and I began to draw jewelry. Ienvisioned these pieces hanging off thehand of women like me who loved color andhaute couture. I begin simply, with a blank piece of paperand an idea. That idea can occur to meanywhere, often, in the most unlikely places, but soon enough I complete a sketch and

that marks the birth of that particular piece. My favorite part of the design process isbeing able to witness the life of each piece. Looking back at when I finally began to workon my pieces, I realize now what came out insome ways is representative of the placesI've lived and traveled to. My pieces are notdemure; they're adventurous. What I hope toconvey with every bracelet or ring is a warminvitation to go where I have been and seewhat I have witnessed around the globe. Iam grateful to all of the many fans, to thecities which have inspired me, and the familythat helped propel me, and I wish just asmany blessings to each of you.
