WHAT IS JET ENGINE
It is a reaction engine.
Working principle :
NEWTON’S LAW OF MOTION. (3rd law)
It is a internal combustion engine.
Open cycle gas turbines.
TYPE OF REACTION ENGINES
The gas turbines :-
when we say a Jet engine. We commonly mean a gas turbine engine.
( air from atmosphere as working fluid)
The rocket :-
do not depend upon the atmospheric air.
( it carry oxygen in liquid form)
It carry oxygen with fuel
HISTORY OF JET ENGINE
The first jet engine was build by Egyptian scientist during 100bc
These device was known as “Aeopile”
PARTS OF JETENGINE
FAN
COMPRESSOR
TURBINE
MIXER
NOZZLE
WORKING OF JET ENGINE
Air suck from atmosphere.
Then compressed
Mixing of fuel and air..
Combustion
High velocity air exhaust through nozzle.
HOW JETENGINE WORKS
Air intake
Compressing of air
Fuel mixing
Combusting
Turbine rotery
Exhausting of air

RAM JET
It has no moving parts
It’s compression ratio depend upon forward speed.
It has no static thrust; guided missile system, space vehicle use this type of jet.
TURBO JET
The turbojet is an air breathing jet engine.
It consists of a gas turbine with a propelling nozzle.
Usually used in aircraft.
