LIVING JESUS’ EXAMPLE Chelsea Community Church of Christ Vol. 30 Issue 10 20th October 2019 From The Pen of Pastor Judi Stand on God’s Word. Psalm 91:2-16) says: “this I declare about the Lord. He alone is my refuge, my place of safety……my God and I trust Him. For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armour and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you…..if you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up…..so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. The Lord says: I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer. I will be with them in trou- ble. I will rescue and honour them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation. When you speak God’s Word over your life, you release the power con- tained in it. So stand firm today and expect God to honour His Word. Jesus Wept. John 11:35(NIV) Thought Provoking Words. Teach me how to love Thee, Teach me how to pray, Teach me how to serve thee better day by day (Unknown)

Church Happenings Pantry donation: Wednesday morning with excitement, we received a cheque for

$1320.55 towards our pantry costs. These funds were raised by Airlie and Scarlet Smith

who baked those wonderful cupcakes.

Crockery donation: Michelle, who was a volunteer with Orange Sky, is offering us a

complete set of dinner and side plates plus cups and saucers – from Bentleigh RSL.

These will replace some of our older/chipped ones in the Kitchen.

Church Happenings (cont) Big Breakfast: Wow, such a lot of people attending as part of Seniors Month – and fantastic feedback received. So far extra 35 over the past 3 weeks.

AGM: are you ready for next week – 27th where we will have our AGM meet-ing followed by our usual lunch. All members need to attend the AGM how-ever, if you are not a member you are still welcome to attend. Board Members please make sure that you have a copy of the agenda and reports.

Meeting with Churches of Christ - Jo from Community Care and

Micheael from Church and Ministerial Support: Pastor Judi spent a good

hour sharing the great work that our church, its members and volunteers do

for the community, including generous donations. It was a good time to

continue to make Churches of Christ Vic/Tas aware of what a “little church

with a big heart” can do.
