The Ten Lepers

Luke 951 When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.

Luke 952 And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him.

Luke 953 But the people did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem.

Luke 954 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”

Luke 955 But he turned and rebuked them. 56 And they went on to another village.

Luke 1711 On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.

Luke 1712 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”

Luke 1714 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. 

When did Jesus ask them to go to the priests?

Joshua 3:88And as for you, command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, ‘When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’”

Joshua 3:1313And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing, and the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap.”

Luke 1715 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.

Luke 1717 Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

Luke 1719 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”
