● Saskatchewan is a province in the west of Canada. Its capital is Regina, but its most populated city is Saskatoon.

CAPITAL AND FLAG

• Regina has around 180.000 citizens.

• Its flag is blue and yellow.

• Regina was declared Canada’s cultural capital in 2004.

CLIMATE

• Temperate in the south with cold winters in the north. The highest rainfall occurs between April and June. Summers are hot and dry with long hours of sunshine, but winter temperatures are generally cold and snowy.

LANGUAGES

• The two official languages are the English and French.

• Canada is one of the most multilingual countries of the world.

• The most spoken languages in Canada are the following ones: English 58,6 %, French 22,6 %, Chinese 2,9 %, Italian 1,6 %, German 1,5 %, Punja vi 0,9 %, Spanish 0,8 %, and Portuguese, Pole and Arab, each one 0,7 %.

TRAVELLING

• We are staying in Saskatchewan from 14th to 16th of April.

• We will take the AVE from Santa Justa (Seville) to Madrid.

• Then, we’ll take a flight from Madrid to Saskatoon.

• We will take the plane at six o'clock in the morning and will come at seven o'clock in the afternoon.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS• The visitors of

the foreigner must have a valid passport.

• Visitors of several countries need also a Visa of Temporary Resident (VRT) to enter Canada.

• To enjoy the " pure air ". Only a road crosses his south part, and thanks to it you can approach the rivers and lakes of the park to practise diverse sports.

CURRENCY• The currency is the Canadian

dollar (divided in 100 Cents). There are tickets (bills) of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollars; and coins of 1,5, 10, 25 and 50 cents as well as coins of one and two dollars.

FINALLYIn 2005, Saskatchewan celebrated its

centenary.

 The Royal Canadian Mint launched a movement of $ 5 commemorative coin describing the wheat fields of Canada.
