    Matthew 5:18

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I didnot come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, untilheaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shallpass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls

one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to dothe same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; butwhoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in thekingdom of heaven.

    Matthew 7:12

In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treatyou, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 15:1-9Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,"Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do notwash their hands when they eat bread. And He answered and said tothem, Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of Godfor the sake of your tradition? For God said, HONOR YOUR FATHER ANDMOTHER, and, HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH.But you say, Whoever says to his father or mother, Whatever I have thatwould help you has been given to God, he is not to honor his father or hismother. And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of

your tradition. You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:

THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROMME.

BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OFMEN.

Matthew 19:16-2216And someone came to Him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I dothat I may obtain eternal life? 17And He said to him, Why are you askingMe about what is good? There is onlyOne who is good; but if you wish toenter into life, keep the commandments. 18Then he said to Him, Whichones? And Jesus said, YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMITADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS; 19HONOR YOUR FATHERAND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. 20The young mansaid to Him, All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking? 21Jesussaid to him, If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions andgive to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.

22But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; forhe was one who owned much property.

Matthew 22:40But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they

gathered themselves together. One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?And He said to him, YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ANDWITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and foremostcommandment. The second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.On these two commandments depend the whole Law and theProphets.

    Matthew 23:

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and toHis disciples, 2saying: The scribesand the Pharisees have seatedthemselves in the chair of Moses;3therefore all that they tell you, doand observe, but do not do

according to their deeds; for theysay things and do not do them.

23Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithemint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightierprovisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but theseare the things you should have done without neglecting the others.24You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!33You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the

    sentence of hell?

Mark 10:17-22 17As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and kneltbefore Him, and asked Him, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternallife? 18And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is goodexcept God alone. 19You know the commandments, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOTCOMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR

YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER. 20And he said to Him, Teacher, I have kept all thesethings from my youth up. 21Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him andsaid to him, One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to thepoor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me. 22But atthese words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one

    who owned much property.

Luke 6:46-49Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say? I willshow you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words andputs them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dugdown deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, thetorrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was wellbuilt. But the one who hears my words and does not put them intopractice is like a man who built a house on the ground without afoundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed

    and its destruction was complete.

    Luke 16:13-7

13No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the oneand love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise theother. You cannot serve God and wealth. 14Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to allthese things and were scoffing at Him. 15And He said to them, You arethose who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts;for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight ofGod.

    Luke 16:16-17

The Law and the Prophets were proclaimeduntil John; since thattime the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, andeveryone is forcing his way into it. But it is easier for heaven andearth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail .

Luke 16:18( 18Everyone who divorces his wife and marries anothercommits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a

    husband commits adultery.)

Luke 24: 44Now He said to them, These are My words which I spoke toyou while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me inthe Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. 45ThenHe opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46and He said to them,Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the deadthe third day, 47and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be

proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

John 10:36( 31The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesusanswered them, I showed you many good works from the Father; for whichof them are you stoning Me? 33The Jews answered Him, For a good

work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You,being a man, make Yourself out to be God. 34Jesus answered them,Has it not been written in your Law, I SAID, YOU ARE GODS? 35If hecalled them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripturecannot be broken), 36do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctifiedand sent into the world, You are blaspheming, because I said, I amthe Son of God?37If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believeMe; 38but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, sothat you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in theFather. 39Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, and He eludedtheir grasp.)

Psalm 82:6"I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the MostHigh.'
