As 2011 comes to an end, I’ve realized one of the signature features in a

wedding collection by Jennifer Williams Photography is the freedom for

a couple to express themselves. Whether it be a motorcyle or a Bentley, a

princess ball gown or an elegant J-Crew dress, a tux or a guayabera shirt,

a taco truck at a beautiful estate or a three course meal in a barn... no

two weddings were the same. Yet, each one was splendidly and uniquely

“them.” These are the weddings I love to capture. Weddings that are full

of thoughtful details, meaningful moments and real people in love. I’m not

quite sure how I have gone about attracting such a versatile array of couples,

but I certainly hope it continues. This year almost seems like dream, and I am

so very grateful to be part of each and everyone of these weddings.

On the cover: It would be impossible for me to select a favorite wedding

this year. However, there was one wedding that continually surfaced as

inspiration. This wedding also happened to be our first wedding of the year.

On January 15, 2011, Denys married Matt at the Springville Ranch. It was

featured on the wedding inspiration blog, The Loveliest Day. It has since

re-surfaced on Jet Fete for burlap inspiration and again on Sparkle and Hay

for rustic chic inspiration. The details Denys and Matt incorporated into

their wedding day are certainly worthy of being shared. The wedding was

stunning, but most importantly, it was personal. One only needs to sit down

with Denys and Matt for ten minutes to realize their wedding was perfect

for them. For this reason, when it came time to design the 2011 Wedding

Magazine, Denys and Matt seemed like a perfect choice for this year’s cover.

What is a wedding without the people you love? When it comes time to marry that person you love, you also want to be surrounded by the love of family and friends. Michelle and Brian understood this completely, and planned an intimate country chic celebration set in their very own backyard.

The proposal: Melissa and Darren had my favorite proposal story of 2011. Have you ever been on Space Mountain at Disneyland? Almost everyone has, but if you haven’t, what makes Space Mountain so awesome is that it is a roller coaster in the dark. You are essentially (if it wasn’t obvious) soaring through space. So, Darren decided to propose to Melissa on this ride, but he did this in the most awesomely cool way possible. You know that part of the ride where they take your picture? If you are a ride veteran, you and your riding partner might even plan to do something funny. Everyone gathers around the screens displaying the photos after the ride, looks for themselves, and laughs… Well this time, when Melissa and Darren went to look at their photo, Darren was holding up a sign that said, “Will you marry me?”

Willow RanchWillow Ranch Restaurant is located just off the I-5 at Hwy 58 in Buttonwillow. For those coming off the trail hungry and hankering for some western fare, Willow Ranch Restaurant is a favorite destination. Whether you are coming from Bakersfield, Los Angeles or San Jose, just make sure you put them on your itinerary for a great meal. They are well known in these parts for servin’ up lip smackin’, face drippin’ good food.

This year, I had the opportunity to photograph their 2012 calendar. It’s always a pleasure working with these ladies. You might even recognize Mandy from her May wedding to JR.
