Public Affairs Committee Report

The association created and delivered a highly successful multi-content area booth at Maryland Day this year that directly interacted with over 1,000 attendees. Distributed there and well received were the 300 MD FCS sponges that were purchased.

I recommend for 2009 - 2010 that we commit to Maryland Day again. That we again purchase some modestly priced promotional items (like the sponges) to support this and to promote FCS education. And that we spend the next 6 to 9 months evaluating the feedback on how and to whom we market FCS education and perhaps develop a set of written and agreed guiding principals for marketing FCS education both internally and externally from 2010 forward.

Respectfully,Megan O'Neil-Haight

2008 NEAFCS - MD AffiliateAnnual Business Meeting

Sign up by DECEMBER 31! We operate our Association through committees so our strength is in member participation. We need committee members in public affairs, professional development, member services, and awards. Much of the work is done via conference call and email. For each committee, we try to have a chair, chair elect and an apprentice to provide a smooth transition each year and gives experience that strengthens the committee.
