What is Naviance?

Naviance is a college and career readiness platform that helps connect academic achievement to post-secondary goals. It allows students to create a plan for their futures by helping them discover their individual strengths and explore college and career options based on their results.

(8th graders have been introduced this fall--in their Language Arts class--how to navigate into Naviance.)

College & Career Center - “CCC”Academic and Career Pathways

NCHS is committed to helping students explore careers and helping them determine what they want--or do not want--to pursue

beyond high school.

Through our Plan of Study/Pathways program, students can:1. Explore Careers through career-focused courses2. Earn college credit and industry credentials3. Participate in workplace learning experiences, such as job

shadowing, internships, and work program

How do we become COLLEGE, CAREER, & LIFE READY?

STARTING LINE: 8th Graders will use NAVIANCE to determine student’s top Career Clusters.

THE RACE: Then, students use the Program of Study Guide during high school to help choose PATHWAY courses related to their Career Cluster.

FINISH LINE: Students will determine if they will 1.Go straight to work force, apprenticeship 2. Attend 2-year community, tech/vocational school, 3. Attend 4-year university, 4. Join the military, 5. Take a Gap Year

Level Change Request

• May request within first 6 weeks of semester IF you have a D / F

• When moving down a level, must show interventions have been utilized. Students must fill out form that is provided in counseling office.

• When moving up a level, teacher recommendation, grade, and space in classes are considered.
