Artist Profile: Jeff Stevenson Jeff Stevenson is a British singer/songwriter, actor and record producer A brief summary of his credits are listed below Played one of the lead roles in the original 1969 Canadian Production of the Broadway Musical “Hair” at The Royal Alex Theatre Toronto. Staff songwriter with April/Blackwood (Sony Music) and CBS recording artist Jeff had two singles released as a solo artist one of which was Tony Blackburn’s BBC Radio One “Record of the week”. Wrote and produced a number one chart hit for Brazilian artist Luciano Gomez. His song “Falling in Love” was covered by British recording artist Helen Shapiro. Jeff enjoyed European Chart success with the song “Do it again” with the band Joe Banana and His Bunch, band members included well known Television actor Paul Nicholas, Dave Peacock (of Chas n’ Dave fame) and drummer Simon Philips (Jeff Beck Group). Formed a band with John Edwards, (now with British rock band Status Quo) Drummer Charlie Morgan, who eventually left to join Elton John’s band and guitarist Ronnie Johnson, who after the band split, toured and recorded with Van Morrison for many years. CoYstarred and toured with Pete Sills (songwriter of all the songs on Cliff Richards hit album “I’m Nearly Famous Now”) in Children’s Theatre Production “Shoo Be Do Whop Show” Staff songwriter for BBC Children’s Television “Watch” series. Featured singer/guitarist, coYwriter of BBC Children’s Television cartoon series “Spider” which was awarded “Best New Series” that year. Written the musical “Father Christmas Forgets” with friend Ray Shell, who is well known not only as an acclaimed author, but also to London’s West End Theatre audiences for his performances in many top Musicals and Drama Productions….Rusty in “Starlight Express” being one of them. Produced his own solo album “One Day” a collection of selfYpenned Contemporary Christian Worship Songs. Jeff has for many years successfully ran his own home recording studio, producing dozens of projects with a variety of artists.
