The route is a mild grade 3 drive through the farm

with a few grade 4 obstacles over loose rock which

required some guidance from selected spotters.

One or two articulation climbs at an off camber

along the route and we were all back at base camp

ready for lunch.

Lunch was ready and all tucked in to a delicious

meal finished off with some cool refreshments.

Thank you Jeep Club SA for a wonderful day of

4x4 fun.

Craig Parsons.

After lunch we had a ‘mini-prize giving’ and they were awarded as follows :

Heksie se Taxi (good Guy) was awarded to Daan Nel who

time and time again got out of his vehicle to assist others

over the various obstacles.

Bosvark (Bad Guy) was awarded to Bruno who

unfortunately for him, was spotted throwing his

cigarette butts into the veld.

Pap Lepel (Stirer) was awarded to Burgert Blom

who held up the convoy while setting up and

adjusting his go-pro and then again to deflate his

tyres.

Invited guest’s review:

“On the 15th of February 2015 Anne-Marie invites

me to

The Valentines Jeep 4x4 Event. It was my first 4x4

experience, and was little bit scary and sceptical to

go.

I decided to go, and it was the most awesome

fantastic experience I had in a long time. All the

club members were so friendly and I felt so welcome

from the beginning. It was an experience I will

never forget and will go again. Thanks to all that

made that day so unforgettable to me.” Santa.

Toti – 15 FEBRUARY 2015 – KWAZULU-NATAL

The 15’Th of February we all met on a wet Sunday morning

at the Seadoone Checkers Centre, thankfully the weather

cleared by the time we left and with 11 Jeeps in tow we set

off into green lush hills of the KZN South Coast.

The Toti outing is more of a scenic one but you can always count on a Jeep to find a challenging obstacle

or two…

We were expecting a lot more mud but it was

surprisingly not too bad. Along route there is a

notorious marsh land which gets avoided by

most because they know it could end up in a

week’s cleaning of the Jeep. But there is always

that one guys that think he can conquer the

marsh. But yet again the marsh claimed its next

victim.

With making good timing we decided we

would try out a new section that we have not

done yet. It was a short, very rocky steep climb

which was mastered by the Jeeps. The rewards

were spectacular a 360 view of it surrounding

with a vista stretching for miles ahead. Hence

the locals named it Table Mountain.

With the weather turning again Ian offered for us to

go and braai by his place down in Amanzimtoti

sheltered from the gusty winds. We all enjoyed the

lunch and afterwards we left our separate ways

home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, see you at the

next one!

Entries for the Bridgestone challenge is still open. For enquiries, please send an e-mail
