You’ve completed the upgrade, finished the unit testing and sweated blood over the integration testing. Now you need to get the business departments involved to complete the end user testing – good luck! Given that you manage to get some availability of the end users, it’s unlikely that they will test in a structured manner and it’s a guarantee that they will get bored and sneak back to their “real” jobs before the testing is completed. Even if you do manage to achieve a good first end user test, once you have corrected the system errors you won’t get them back for the second or third end user tests. The reality being that you will go live with a half tested system.
