Hardware Requirements
• Contact your specific hardware representativefor optimal system configurations.
• Sizing information is provided by the hardwarerepresentatives.
• It is critical to check with your hardwarevendor for sizing requirements when upgrading from XE or ERP 8 to EnterpriseOnerele8.9 or later.

• PCL 5 is only supported for non-DoubleByte customers.
• DoubleByte: Genuine Adobe Systems PostScript Language Level 2 Interpreter version 2015, orPostScript Language Level 3.
• EnterpriseOne uses CID Font Technology. Support starts at Language Level 2 Interpreter 2015.
• It has been discovered that some third-partyinterpreters of PostScript Language Level 2 will not properly print CID-Fontbased DoubleByte PostScript.

EnterpriseOne 8.9 and 8.10 Apps do not support the VisualStudio C++ .NET 2003 compiler.
In order to install VC 6.0 the user will need to acquire andlicense the Visual Studio .NET software from Microsoft.
Install the .NET version then follow the downgradeinstructions from the Microsoft web site referenced in the EnterpriseOne 8.9Informational Web Sites document.

Server Manager
Server Manager for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a web based application used to assist JD Edwards EnterpriseOne administrators with deploying tools releases,simplifying system configuration, and monitoring all EnterpriseOneservers. It is delivered with theJD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Release 8.97, andsupports the same JD Edwards EnterpriseOneapplication releases supported by Tools Release 8.97, which includes: 8.9,8.10, 8.11, 8.11 SP1, 8.12.
It is important to note that Server Managerfor JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is required to deployall tool releases starting with release 8.97. With the release of 8.97,Server Manager needs to be installed to deploy release 8.97 to your JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environments.
JD Edwards will support runningServer Manager on the Deployment Server.
Server Manager has the samerequirements as the Deployment Server with the following exceptions:

Hardware Requirements
• Contact your specific hardware representativefor optimal system configurations.
• Sizing information is provided by the hardwarerepresentatives.
• It is critical to check with your hardwarevendor for sizing requirements when upgrading from XE or ERP 8 to EnterpriseOne 8.9 or later release.
• Oracle highly recommends that the server bededicated to EnterpriseOne 8.9x deployment (and optionally,Server Manager for 8.97).
Printer Support
• Non-DoubleByte: Post Script Language Level 2, PCL 5 or line printer.
• PCL 5 is only supported for non-DoubleByte customers.
• DoubleByte: Genuine Adobe Systems PostScript Language Level 2 Interpreter version 2015, orPostScript Language Level 3.
• EnterpriseOne uses CIDFont Technology. Support starts at Language Level 2 Interpreter 2015.
• It has been discovered that some third-partyinterpreters of PostScript Language Level 2 will not properly print CID-Font basedDoubleByte PostScript.

Note: JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Validationon Windows Server 2003 Editions
Oracle validates JD Edwards EnterpriseOneproducts with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. This validationalso extends to Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition and Datacenter Edition.Customers who choose to implement EnterpriseOne onWindows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition or Datacenter Edition will receivesupport services according to their EnterpriseOneservices agreement.
Database Requirements
Database client connectivity
Refer to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.9x Database Software Minimum TechnicalRequirements document for client connectivity to EnterpriseOne8.9x databases. Unless otherwise noted the Client Database Component versionshould match the database software version, including jde.ini settings.
MSDE 2000 SP3 is included on SetupCD #1. It is installed during the deployment server installation. Instructionsfor installing MSDE are included in the EnterpriseOneInstall/Upgrade guides.
Note: Microsoft SQL Server 2000Client Tools are not required but recommended for local data viewing onWindows.
Note: Beginning with EnterpriseOne Tools 8.97 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Expressis included instead of MSDE. SQL Server2005 Express is required for clients running Microsoft Vista.

System Restore on Windows XP should beturned off on Enterprise One Windows and Development Clients to allow Enterprise One to function correctly.
Turn off SystemRestore
To turn off System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start,right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the SystemRestore tab.
3. Select the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), andthen click OK.

Note:Starting with JDEdwards application 8.11, the webclient is required for running business applications (the Windows client issupported only for running EnterpriseOneadministrative applications starting with 8.11). The Windows client issupported with application releases 8.9 and 8.10 for administrative andbusiness applications.
Hardware Requirements
• Contact your specific hardware representativefor optimal system configuration for the operating system on which the browserruns.
• It is critical to check with your hardwarevendor for sizing requirements when upgrading from XE or ERP 8 to EnterpriseOne release 8.9 or later.
One of the primary factors that effects the performance ofthe Web client is the number of cells to be rendered in the grid withininteractive applications. Ifunsatisfactory performance is experienced while rendering the grid, performanceof the Web client can usually be improved by:
1. Reducing the number of columns in the grid by using custom views 2. Increasing the RAM on the Web client 3. Increasing the CPU on the Web client

Note: Visual Studio C++ .NET 2005 is the only supported compiler onMicrosoft Windows Vista. Configuration information for Visual StudioC++ .NET 2005 is included in the PackageManagement Guide 8.97.
RTL = Runtime Libraries.
RUNTIME LIBRARY DLLs
Prior to 8.97, theseDLLs should be located in the Windows system32 directory. With 8.97 the DLLs need to be located in the EnterpriseOne system/bin32 directory. The required runtime DLLs will be installedas part of EnterpriseOne.
EnterpriseOne 8.9 and 8.10 Apps donot support the Visual Studio C++ .NET 2003 compiler. In order to install VC6.0 the user will need to acquire and license the Visual Studio .NET softwarefrom Microsoft. Install the .NET version then follow the downgrade instructionsfrom the Microsoft web site referenced in the EnterpriseOne8.9 Informational Web Sites Document.

Web Application Server Requirements
Beginning with EnterpriseOne Tools8.9 SP2 the development tools allow a developer to preview Web applications onthe local developer workstation. This feature requires that a Web applicationserver is installed on the developer workstation. Refer to the EnterpriseOne Install/Upgrade guides for instructions oninstalling the development client.
The Web application servers listed below are supported. OC4J 10g Standalone
• OC4J Standalone (10.1.2.x). Support for OC4JStandalone (10.1.2..x) begins with EnterpriseOneTools 8.95. In order to use the OC4J Standalone (10.1.2.x) installation,a Java2 Standard Edition (J2SE) SDK version 1.4 must be available on theDeployment Server.
• OC4J Standalone (10.1.3.2). Support for Oracle OC4JStandalone 10.1.3.2 begins with EnterpriseOne Tools8.97. Support for the Oracle Application Server with Microsoft WindowsVista begins with Oracle Application Server 10g R3 (10.1.3.1). In orderto use the OC4J Standalone (10.1.3.1) installation, a Java2 Standard Edition(J2SE) SDK version 5.0 (JDK 1.5) must be available on the Deployment Server.
For convenience of installation, the supported version of StandaloneOC4J and JDK are included as part of the development client installationprocess.
IBM WebSphereApplication Server Express
• IBM WebSphereApplication Server Express 6.0. Supportfor WebSphere Application Server Express 6.0 beginswith EnterpriseOne Tools 8.96
• IBM WebSphereApplication Server Express 6.1. Supportfor WebSphere Application Server Express 6.1 beginswith EnterpriseOne Tools 8.97. Support for the WebSphereApplication Server Express with Microsoft Windows Vista begins with WebSphere Application Server Express 6.1.
WebSphere Application ServerExpress must be installed manually before installing the development client.The WebSphere Application Server Express CD isincluded with the EnterpriseOne Technology FoundationCDs.
Miscellaneous Requirements
The miscellaneousrequirements for the development client are the same as for the Windowsclient.
