Introduction

What is Family Business LegacyAmong the many forms of business operation in the Hong Kong commercial and industrial world, family business still maintains a significant position. Invariably it is the wish of the first generation which starts the family business to see the business grow and develop. In reality, some business fail to maintain satisfactory performance when the management role is passed to the second generation at a later stage, while other business continue to blossom and expand with the second generation.

Outstanding Family Business Legacy Selection 2015 is the Flagship project of its kind organised by Junior Chamber International Tsuen Wan (JCI Tsuen Wan) with the following objectives:

• to give recognition of outstanding achievements made by family business with management succession through generations.

• to encourage the use of practical and effective planning or strategy to ensure successful succession of business by the next generation.

• to encourage family business to develop future leaders for the benefit of not only the business itself, but also the related business field in general and the community as a whole.

JCI Tsuen Wan – The Organizer

Our purpose is to contribute to the advancement of the global community by providing the opportunity for young people to develop their leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, and fellowship necessary to create positive changes.

To achieve our vision, Junior Chamber international focus on four areas of development opportunity namely individual, community, international and business. There are a total of over 200,000 members in more than 100 countries around the world. The members are between the age of 18-40 who make full use of their leisure hours to work for the betterment of the community and themselves.

Overview

Outstanding Family Business Legacy Selection 2015 is a election of Family Business with outstanding achievements in the business legacy. The project will be carried out according to the following timelines:

Nomination

Nomination for the Outstanding Family Business Legacy Selection 2015 begins from 18 July- 18 September 2015. A business enterprise will be eligible to participate in the Selection provided:

• it is a company registered in Hong Kong, limited or unlimited, and is still in operation.• a representative of the company is able to attend the Judging session on 26 Sep 2015.• the company’s representative attending the Judging session is one of the company’s posterity

members.• the nomination is made by only one proposer.

Proposer

Nominations shall be made by individuals who are not family members of the enterprise being nominated, or by public or private organizations, but the proposer cannot be the nominee himself / herself. There is no limit to the number of nominations that may be made by one party.

Nomination Procedures and Conditions

1. Each nomination must be submitted with: a. The nomination form in which all the required details must be properly completed, and duly signed by both the proposer and the nominee; b. Copies of relevant documents to support the statement made in the nomination form; c. A Soft Copy of Presentation/PowerPoint which may be used in the Judging session; d. One set of related Management Account for compare propose.

2. Nomination forms should be delivered to: JCI Tsuen Wan 21/F, Seaview Commercial Building, 21-23 Connaught Road West, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

(with the mark “ Outstanding Family Business Legacy Selection 2015 ” shown on the envelope and post mark no later than 18 September 2015 if submitted by post)

3. The nominee’s representative MUST attend the Judging session for interview by the Panel of Judges and provide supporting documents for substantiation of statements made in the Nomination form.

4. The nominee, if eventually selected as one of the awardees, MUST give consent to JCI Tsuen Wan for publication of information contained in the nomination form, and agree to attend the Results Announcement and Awards Presentation Ceremony on 17 October 2015.

Selection Criteria

• Performance of the business over a number of years• Strategy to ensure successful succession of business by the next generation• Skills in the transfer of wealth and knowledge developed in the business• Development of family business leader in the next generation

Judging session

The Judging session will be held on 26 Sep 2015, during which the shortlisted nominees will be interviewed by the Panel of Judges.

Prior to the Judging session, information given and claims made in a Nomination form will be examined and screened with regard to their correctness and authenticity. The Panel of Judges will be informed of the examination result and shortlisted nominees will be notified and required to attend the interview that allows for a more thorough assessment of the qualifications and performance of a family business under nomination and their views on family legacy. All information will be kept confidential until a final decision on the selection has been reached.

All information pertinent to the nomination and the information of awardees will not be released to the public and media until a final decision on the selection has been reached.

The Judging Panel

The Panel of Judges consists of:Chief Judge: Dr. David YK Wong, BBS, JPJudges : Dr Samuel Yung, SBS, MH, JP Dr. Roy CP Chung, BBS, JP Mr. Michael Ngai

Decisions made by the Judging Panel are Final.

Results Announcement

Results of Outstanding Family Business Legacy Selection 2015 will be announced at the Awards Presentation Ceremony on 17 October 2015. The awardees and their proposers will be invited to attend the Press Conference and the Awards Presentation Ceremony.

Recognition for Awardees

• A Trophy of Outstanding Family Business Legacy Selection 2015 and a Certificate will be presented to Awardees at the Awards Presentation Banquet.

• A Family Business Legacy 2015 booklet will be published to recognize the achievement of the awardees in their family business.

Recognition for Successful Proposers

A Token of Appreciation will be presented to proposers at the Awards Presentation Ceremony.

荃灣青年商會為國際青年商會香港總會成員之一。國際青年商會香港總會是一個匯聚及培育青年領袖及企業家的國際性組織，隸屬於國際青年商會，本會之宗旨是為年青人提供發展領導才能，培育社會責任感，提供商務發展及增進友誼之機會，冀能藉此締創建設性之改進，為全球社會發展作出貢獻。本會依循四大發展機會 — 個人發展，社會發展，國際關係及商務發 展等各方面訓諫會員。國際青年商會現時全球會員約20萬人分別在世界各地超過100個國家，年齡由18至40歲，會員透過籌辦多類型有意義之社會工作計劃，從實踐中學習，繼而提昇管理能力及經驗，訓練自己成為青年領袖。 而「全城．傳承2015」 乃荃灣青年商會之旗艦工作計劃。「全城．傳承2015」傑出企業傳承選舉由荃灣青年商舉辦，本會深明人才的培育對地區的重要性，當中不能或缺的一環正是財富管理與知識的延續「全城．傳承2015」傑出企業企業選舉之目的正是在於：

• 表揚在企業領域上有卓越成就及在企業傳承上有傑出表現之企業；• 鼓勵企業建構有延續性，長久性之文化與管理環境，從而為改進企業對社會之擔當與責

任；• 激勵企業在本業培育出未來之商業領袖，以達至對社會承擔方面有更進取的表現。

選舉細節

「全城．傳承2015」將於2015年7月18日至9月18日接受提名。

候選企業資格

• 需為香港註冊(有限或無限)而仍在營運中之公司• 企業代表必須親自出席由評選團於本年九月尾邀請之甄選面試• 企業面試代表必須為傳承後代成員• 只能由一名提名人推薦

提名人

提名人必須為公共/私人團體或人士，但不能是被提名企業的家族成員。每位提名人之提名數量不限。

提名參選細節及條款

1.遞交提名表格時，亦須包括以下文件及資料： a) 填報妥當之提名表格，並經由提名人及候選企業代表聯署； b) 各項所需有關文件副本，包括候選企業之商業登記證，呈報資料之註釋文字 (每項不多於150字，中文或英文均可)； c) 一份可於甄選會晤時用作作介紹或解釋與候選企業有關資料的電腦軟件 例如: Powerpoint Presentation (簡報); d) 一份可用作比較的公司管理賬

2.提名表格必須於2015年9月18日或之前遞交至: 香港上環干諾道西21-23號 海景商業大廈21樓 荃灣青年商會 收 (信封面請註明「全城．傳承2015」)

3.候選企業之有關文件，將經由甄選顧問審核。如有需要，甄選顧問可要求候選企業提供 進一步資料。經初步甄選後被認為符合選舉準則之企業，必須接受邀請與評判團會晤， 以作最後評選。

4.獲選之企業必須同意荃灣青年商會將其參選有關資料公開，及派代表出席2015年10月 17日舉行之選舉結果公佈暨頒奬典禮午宴。

甄選準則

• 候選企業在過去一定年度內之經營表現及發展• 用於確保下一代成功繼承業務之策略• 移交或傳授業務上財產及知識之技巧• 企業在培育下一代業務領導人之成就

甄選會面

經初步甄選後被認為符合選舉準則之企業，將被邀請於9月26日與評判團會面，以作最後評選。除選舉獲者外，所有有關企業提名資料將不會被公開。
