JCI Ghana Launches Peace Is Possible Campaign

As national elections draw near, JCI Ghana identified a need for a more peaceful and tranquil

environment as citizens participate in electing their new President and Members of Parliament.

JCI Ghana officially launched ‘Peace is Project’ during the Northern Ghana Entertainment

Awards held at the Tamale Sports Stadium in Tamale, Ghana. During the awards JCI Ghana

National President John Stephen Agbenyo called for youth to embrace peace.

“Violent conflicts serve as a prompt reminder to the relevance and necessity of peace in the world

today,” said National President Agbenyo.

He reminded the crowd that youth should not allow themselves to be used as agents to perpetuate

violence in society. Members from all JCI Local Organizations across the country united to

participate in the Independence Day parade held at the Jubilee Park in Tamale, Ghana.

During the Independence Day parade, JCI members took part in the March Pass. At this event,

JCI Ghana was declared runner up in the category of Non-Governmental Organizations and was

presented with a plaque acknowledging the organization’s initiative to foster peace and

tranquillity.

The Northern Regional Minister praised JCI Ghana’s dedication to ensuring peace, describing

2016, 1st Quarter

the initiative as an

impeccable show of

active citizenship that

should be emulated by

all citizens as a measure

of sustaining peaceful

coexistence.
