Knowing the characters and the categories they belong to BEFORE reading will REALLY help! *TIP: Generate mnemonic devices to remember the characters in each section. Casca Could Trebonius These Cinna Crazy Decius Dudes Metellus Make Caius Chaos? ************************************************************************************************** Triumvirs - (Tri = 3) *These 3 men originally shared power in Rome, and my mnemonic helps me remember their names AND what happened to their 3-way partnership: Caesar Caesar Crassus Crushed Pompey Pompey ************************************************************************************************** Friends - *These are Brutus & Cassius’ friends, so my mnemonic helps me remember their names AND what you’d let your friends do: Lucilius Let Titanium Them Masala Mess (with your) Cato Car radio’s Voluminous Volume ************************************************************************************************** Servants of Brutus - *These are Brutus’ servants, so my mnemonic helps me remember their names AND a reminder about the fact that they’re servants: Strato Servants Claudius Cook, Clitis Clean, Varro Vacuum, Lucius (do) Laundry & Dardanius Dishes ************************************************************************************************** Senators - *These senators are political officials, so my mnemonic helps me remember their names AND their role in Roman politics: Cicero Cool Publius People (in) Popilius Politics *************************************************************************************************************** Tribunes - *Tribunes are the spokespeople for the community; they inform the public of the decisions made by the Senators, so my mnemonic helps me remember their names AND what tribunes to – they broadcast info: Flavius F Marullus M (like the FM stations on a radio that broadcast info!)
