HSE - First Aid at Work Regulations for UKThe Health & Safety ( First Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel toenable first aid to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work. The regulations apply to all workplaces including those with five orfewer employees and to the self employed.

The HSE Approved Code of Practice & Guidance states:-The minimum level of first aid equipment is a suitably stocked first aid container. Every employer should provide for each work site at least one first-aid container supplied with a sufficent quantity of first aid equipment for the particular circumstances.

HSA - The Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Regulation 2007 for ROIThese regulations state that different work activities involve different hazards and therefore different first aid provision is required. As a minimumevery workplace should have an occupational first aid box or kit. The table shown gives a broad indication of the contents which would be resonablein different circumstances.
