Dear IMEA District 7 Jazz Directors, We hope this finds you well as the end of the 2015-2016 school year comes to an end. All required audition music for the 2016 ILMEA junior Jazz Festival is included in this packet. Auditions are on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Northbrook Junior High (1475 Maple Avenue, Northbrook). The Jr. Concert Band auditions will be held at the same location. The Jazz Festival will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Lake Zurich High School (300 Church Street, Lake Zurich). Below is a description of the audition requirements for all instruments. If you have any questions regarding the music feel free to contact Richard LoPresto or Bryan Itzkowitz. 1.) Jamey Aebersold book and CD #54 F Blues “Tootsie” -Required- ! Brass and Reeds should play the head then 2 solo choruses. ! Drummers should play time with the CD through the head then alternate 4 measures of time with 4 measures of solo through 2 choruses. ! Guitar & Piano – play melody 1x, comp 2x, solo 3x ! Bass Players – play melody 1x, walk 2x, solo 3x 2.) Easy Jazz Conception by Jim Snidero ! Mist and Grits – All students will play with the CD 3.)
