    greatness by dint of hard work. I believe Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was born great.

    e is reckoned as one of the most illustrious sons of India! an outstanding leader who left

    behind a bla"ing trail of remarkable achievements and success. #ill today he stands

    une$ualled! unrivalled and without a peer in the gala%y of Indian leaders who have graced our

    land.

    Jawaharlal Nehru was the son of &otilal Nehru who was a renowned barrister and a leading

    political figure. Nehru was born on '(th Nov. '))* at +llahabad. e took his primary

    education from ,nglish tutors! at home. -ater on! he was sent to ,ngland for higher studies

    and returned to India in '*'* after $ualifying himself as a barrister.

    n his return to India! he started his practice at +llahabad but soon gave up his /ob to serve

    the motherland. e plunged himself wholeheartedly in the National 0reedom struggle that

    was going on that time. Nehru became an ardent disciple of &ahatma 1andhi.

    e was sent to /ail many times for propagating the cause of independence. 2ut nothing could

    It is his noble contributions to the cause of building up India after attaining independence that

    service to the cause of the nation.

    the destiny of India from '*(7 till his death in '*>(. e built up our nation from the scratches

    and left it in a recognisable position in the assembly of nations.
