Tribute to late Mr Abis Rizvi
(27th Feb., 1968 to 1st Jan., 2017)
Today we pay a tribute in the remembrance of the Trustee of Rizvi Education Society,
Late Mr. Abis Rizvi. He was a pillar of strength for the organization, being constantly with
us, supporting in implementation of new ideas and endeavours. He was the CEO of the Rizvi
Builders Flag Ship and a film Producer with his own production house named Abis Rizvi
Films. He was a multi-tasking personality and he actively supported the Rizvi
Education Society with his active participation and innovative ideas. He had a heart of
gold who always believed in supporting the poor and needy. He engaged himself in a lot
of social activities and social work. Being a trustee, he always participated and helped
the college in many co-curricular activities whole heartedly.
One of his favourite event was Jashn-e-Rizvi, the Annual Fest of the Rizvi College of
Arts, Science and Commerce. His innovative ideas helped in promoting the youth fest.
His constant support and personal initiatives made this event a mega event. His
dedication from décor to hospitality, arranging celebrities and VIPs always kept this
event at a hike. He was always in favour of the progress of the Institution and
encouraged new ventures and collaborations. He never he sitated to grace any occasion
whenever the college needed him.
A keen businessman and a beloved son of our dear President Shri Dr. Akhtar Hasan Rizvi
is no more in our midst today. We miss you very much Abis Sir!
You are a thorough soul which we feel when we move through each corner of the Rizvi
College of Arts, Science and Commerce. Your presence was marked yesterday, is marked
today and will be marked always. You are there; you were there and will be there for us
forever.
About Rizvi College of Arts, Science & Commerce
The Rizvi Education Society was founded by Shri Dr. Akhtar Hasan Rizvi in the year 1982, who set his heart on the realization of a dream. “The Establishment of a Mini University”, is catering to diverse educational interest and aspirations. Today, the Rizvi Educational empire has expanded to unimaginable dimensions. There are 29 institutes under the banner of Rizvi education Society, not only in Mumbai but in Jaunpur, Allahabad as well. Shri Dr. Akhtar Hasan Rizvi has succeeded in fulfilling his deep desire to help the less fortunate once who are not able to pursue higher education, especially those belonging to the “Muslim Minority Community”. The Rizvi College of Arts, Science and Commerce was established in 1985-86 with a motto, "Humanize, Equalize and Spiritualize". The college offers B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.M.S., B.M.M., B.B.I., B.A.F. and M.Com. The college also offers Ph.D. in four disciplines.The college has completed about 33 years from its inception and today, it has grown tremendously and has earned a distinction of high repute in the realm of higher education. The Director, Adv. (Mrs.) Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi has taken the college to different levels by transforming from traditional methods to digitization. The college has organized various National and International conferences, workshops, etc. in her abled guidance. Her efforts made it possible to uplift the college in all directions, curricular and co-curricular. The college has completely transformed from traditional to digital methods of teaching learning process and attendance monitoring.Rizvi College provides extensive collegiate and co-curricular experiences for students, including such opportunities as student men's intercollegiate cricket team; performance groups; a Degree Programme; and a host of activities in which students learn leadership skills, expand their academic horizons and celebrate cultural diversity. The college has received prestigious “Guru Nanak Trophy” by University of Mumbai for securing maximum points in sports competitions among 770 colleges. The College has also received the “Best Liked College Award” among all the colleges in India. The college has been proving excellence in Research field as well as we have won overall Championship trophy for Avishkar in research category amongst 750 colleges of University of Mumbai, ETC.

th stIt will be a three-day grand event commencing from Saturday 19 to Monday 21 January, 2019. We have more than 100 colleges from all over Mumbai participating in this festival. Rizvi College is the first college in India to collaborate with Chishty Foundation, Dargah of Ajmer Sharif for their International Sufi Rang Festival. It is for the first time that the Chishty Foundation is organizing International Sufi Rang Festival outside the Darbar of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty (R.A.)
We are privileged to host this prestigious event. It is our endeavour to promote Sufi thoughts and Culture through events like these. Being in the field of education gives us the right platform to reach out and spread awareness of Sufism amongst t he youth of today.
Our event is the most spoken about in society as it has always been attended by personalities such as actress Tanuja, Music composer Ismail Darbar, Singer Shaan, Star Choreographer Terence Lewis, Preetika Rao, Singer Ali Quli Mirza, Comedian Rehman Khan and many other dignitaries and VIPs. We request you to follow these regulations:
General Rules-
· The event should be completed in the allotted time.· Student should be present at the venue of the event 30 minutes prior to the given
time.· Damage to any college property or misbehavior will be treated as a serious
offence.· Verdict of the judges and the organizers will be final and will be not be
subjected to any further changes.· Students should register only with the CL or ACL of their college.· The name of the participating college should not be reveal by any means. · Costumes and dresses of the participants should not be above knee level.
Security Rules-
· The whole college is under CCTV surveillance with 80 cameras· Carrying sharp objects, inflammable objects and/ or any other objects that are
potentially dangerous is prohibited.· Carrying any b everages with alcoholic content is prohibited.· Attempting to use or sell narcotics, drugs, cigarettes or addictive S o any sort is
prohibited.· Any misbehavior for example ragging, eve teasing, on part of the participants
or visitors will lead to expulsion from the premises and will reflect on their college.
· A n y t h i n g t h a t c a n b e p e r c e i v e d a s b e i n g o f f e n s i v e t o a n y n a t i o n a l /religious/linguistic sentiments or to any gender will lead to immediate disqualification.
· Kindly note that participants are not permitted to leave the venue between the various rounds of an event.
· Gate crashing is strictly prohibited,· Members of the Jashn-e-Rizvi Staff Committee are allowed access to all
venues, at any point of time.

ADMINISTRATION
The smooth functioning of any event is impossible without proper organized administration. The festival is based on administrative work of committee members and a good team of students.
It functions right from inviting colleges to post event activities. This includes planning, executing and evaluating all resources in efficient manner. We ensure that everything must be at right time and right place.
Administration duties include:· Management of available resources and equipments· Maintaining a clean and enjoyable working environment· Handling external or internal communications· Organizing, arranging and coordinating the events

PARTICIPANTS ELIGIBILITY
Bonafide students from Junior and Degree colleges are eligible to participate in all the events at Jashn-e-Rizvi.
TYPES OF REGISTRATION
CONTINGENT
Contingent represents a particular college. Registrations have to be done online. A separate link to register for local colleges will be put up on the Jashn-e-Rizvi, Rizvi College of Arts, Science & Commerce website –
The Contingent Leader (CL) should register his/her college by accessing the Registration th thForm provided on the Rizvi College website available from – 9 to 18 January, 2019.
CL MEET
thThe CL meet will be held on 9 January, 2019. It is compulsory for the CL and/or ACL(s) to attend the CL meet. At the CL meet, the college can clarify their doubts with respect to events, event requirements and general queries about Jashn-e-Rizvi.
FORM VERIFICATION
thThe Form Verification day will be on 15 January, 2019 details of which are mentioned in the Rules and Regulations manual.
STANDARDIZED IDENTITY CARDS
Upon registering, contingents will have to provide the fee receipt of the current academic year of all participants. This will be undertaken on form verification day. Subsequently, each participant will be given their unique identity card which is mandatory for contingent participation. Further details will be mentioned in the Rules and Regulations manual. 8
OTSE (ON-THE-SPOT-ENTRY)
T h e y a r e p a r t i c i p a n t s w h o d o n o t r e p r e s e n t a n y c o l l e g e a n d r e g i s t r a t i o n s a r e t o b e d o n e o n t h e d a y s o f J a s h n - e - R i z v i a t t h e registration desk of the event. Points awarded are not added to any college(s). Inter-college or intra-college teams can participate. Registrations are done offline, during the days, on the spot.
·Only certain specific events have slots open for OTSE.·OTSEs carry no points for the contingent but winners will be awarded prizes and certificates.·OTSEs can register themselves at the event venue at theregistration desk (45 minutes prior to the commencement ofthe event); the presence of a CL/ACL is not required. fulfilled.·OTSE slots will vary from event to event. OTSEs will be registered on a first come, first serve basis only.

Every college that participates in departmental events will get 250 extra points
These events are called Rizvi Honours Events.

SOCIAL CAUSE: HELP YOURSELF
In order to sensitize the youth to the contemporary social issues in society a social corner will be put up where display on social issues like Child abuse, Environmental concerns and Gender issues will be displayed through poster, short films and documentaries. Experts on the subject from academia and other Social organisations and NGO's will be present for the discussion on the same.

TRANSPARENCYOn both the Eliminations and the Final Days, the score sheets after being marked by the judges, will be put up on Electronic LEDs in Rizvi College Campus.Taking photographs of the score sheet is not allowed.Events that won't be going for transparency will be mentioned in the Rules and Regulations manual.
TROPHY SYSTEM·The Jashn-e-Rizvi Trophy is a result of cumulative scores of the four sub-trophies forJashn-e-Rizvi as well as points earned for other events.·The four sub-trophies are the Fine Arts Trophy, the Literary Arts Trophy, Urdu SamaTrophy and the Performing Arts Trophy (inclusive of IPA and WPA Events).·These trophies are awarded to the contingent securing the highest scores for eventsunder that particular department.·In case of a tie, the colleges with equal points will share the trophy.·Trophies are also awarded to colleges securing second and third place overall.
ADMIN OFFICEThe Admin Office will be located in Rizvi College Campus – Sports Club, Ground Floor on all days of Jashn-e-Rizvi (Eliminations and Finals).Entry to the Admin Office is restricted & prohibited.
