I. INTRODUCTION

Nowadays automation had become more popular. It had replaced humans and placed computers over the past decades. It also shown its influence in homes. Homes had become smart homes by the introduction of automation. It had simplified the use of technology, by making our lives more comfort. Home automation is anything that enables us to use our home’s lightning, heating and appliances more conveniently and efficiently. It can be simple as remote or automatic control of few lights, or it can be a complete system that controls all major parts of your home, cutom set to ypur own personal preference. It is also focusing on wireless home automation technologies these are easy to retrofit into existing homes ,now need for new wiring and no ripping up the carpets or drilling holes in the walls. Each technology has its own unique features and benefits, this makes some more suited to particular applications, whilst other can be see for all general home automation installations. Lighting is the area where you can really use home automation to its full extent to provide convenience, comfort and security for your home. The objective of home automation is to conserve energy and to avoid waste. We can save energy in areas other than the heating and cooling systems even when in astanby mode or just when plugged in can be completely shut down when not in use, reducing your home’s “vampire” load.

II. PROPOSED METHODOLOGY:

A. There are three circuits used in this project. The circuits are touch screen based home automation system which consists of a transmitter and receiver .When the user switches ON or OFF the electrical appliances by touching, the options given in the touch screen, the command is transmitted through the transmitter and it is received in the receiver circuit. Automatic room light controller circuit controls the lights when somebody enters leaves the room. Prepaid energy meter is used here. The use of prepaid energy meter is to prepay the electricity bill and to use according to the bill paid. These are the major circuits used in this home automation. The visitor counter identifies the number of visitors entering and leaving the room. It sends command to operate the further circuits like LAMPS and FANS. The ceiling fans will be turned ON when a person is standing below it for more than 15 seconds. Remote controlled fans can be also used.

common type of opto-isolator consists of an LED and a phototransistor in the same opaque package.

F.IR Sensor:

An infrared sensor is an electronic instrument which is used to sense certain characteristics of its surroundings by

either emitting and/or detecting infrared radiation. Infrared sensors are also capable of measuring the heat being

emitted by an object and detecting motion.

G.LCD Display:

A liquid-crystal display (LCD) is a flat-panel display or other electronically modulated optical device that

uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals do not emit light directly, instead using

a backlight or reflector to produce images in color or monochrome.

IV.RESULTS AND DISUSSION

Thus, prepaid billing with GSM module and home automation is done successfully and the result is obtained.

Fig.4. prepaid billing with GSM module and home automation result

Automatic Room Lighting with Bidirectional Visitor Counter can be used to automatically turn on the light in a room when a person enters the room and turn it off when the person leaves the room. The project can also be dubbed as a Bidirectional Visitor Counter it is an integral part of the Automatic Room Lighting circuit. The project can be modified with LEDs and as the number of persons in the room increases, the number of LEDs turning ON also increases.

V. CONCLUSION

New devices are already starting to be used, such as mobile phones tailored to health care, or electronic sensors that sound alarms in emergency situations. Another new technology is sensors. Sensors can be placed in everyday appliances in the home, like the fridge, cooker or the door, and can send information to healthcare providers. Providers can find out how people are doing in their homes and then make decisions about their care, such as how often to visit the home. Homes with these technologies are called ‘smart homes’. As with many new technologies, smart home technologies, smart home technologies are often used without firs testing if they are effective. This review aimed to determine what effect any type of smart home technologies within health care, but there were no studies testing their effectiveness. The effects of smart technologies to support people in their homes are not known. Better quality research is needed.
