When a 22-year-old can pass as a 16-year old teenager, you know you’ve got something there. Jared hates what he did as an actor in “My So-Called Life”, in 1994, but we know better. That was the first glimpse we saw of how magical and hypnotic he could be.

Jared did a number of movies, some bigger than others, and got critical apraisal for some of his roles. He’s a natural talent.

The tone of his voice, his undisputable beauty – so evident that was often

undermined – the expression of his eyes, are one of a kind.

You watch him and you are certain that a thousand worlds are being created inside

Jared is a diva. A control freak. A very uncommon person. He puts everything he has into his craft, whether in acting, music, photography and entrepreneurship. He lives inside a bubble, touched only by his famiy, his dogs and some friends. He forged a very special bond with the Echelon because that’s what we are – freaks. Like him.

“I knew what I was walking into, and I knew that I was going to get my ass kicked, and it would have been much easier to just continue making films, but I’ve been making music since I was a kid and I certainly wasn’t going to let that stop me from pursuing my dreams…”

“When you’re young, you don’t know that you’re poor, you just know whether or not you’re happy. And i was happy, and loved. My mom did whatever she has to do to get by, and the lesson I learned from my childhood was that it’s possible to pursue happiness, no matter where that pursuit may lead you.”

Jared knew, even without having released any song, he was going to create a CULT. Not in the way most people perceive it; but as a safe place for the freaks, for those who understand, for the children of a lesser God.

Year zero


Jared is one of the most creative and weird people you can ever meet. He’s a force of nature, sometimes impossible to deal with. Sometimes a brat, sometimes a genius. He lives inside a strange world where creepy thoughts and dark feelings dance around with brilliant ideas and an out of this world I.Q.

He’s now a skinny, single, 41-year-old vegan male. And we love him just as much as in the beginning.

Jared’s art will forever be misunderstood. He doesn’t deal well with criticism. He knows he’s a genius, and it’s hard for him to understand why the rest of the world won’t recognize that. We, the Echelon, have helped him become certain that what he does has real value and impact. We are the guardians of his strange little bubble.

“30 Seconds To Mars is a pox upon music, they are a blight on the aural landscape, and you should all write Leto emails begging him to stop. Do yourself a favor and download some Muse or Mars Volta if you are looking for some great Prog. This is War is an insult to people with taste, and harmful to your ears. There is nothing redeeming about this record, I would even be hesitant to put it in my iTunes for fear it would corrupt other albums in my collection with it's otherworldly suckage.“

Through all the drama, the fangirling, the whiners, the bitches, the stalkers, the bad decisions, Jared Leto and Thirty Seconds to Mars opened up a world into our eyes and souls that we would have never seen otherwise.

We found a meaning and a sense of belonging within this bizarre family.

Being an Echelon means you take it all – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Means you know Jared Leto isn’t Jesus Christ reincarnated (a girl actually asked me if he was), that he isn’t the most kind and easygoing person around, that he does have faults and most of them we will never know. And we shouldn’t.
