Join us in this intriguing Watermark Class, Apollo 13. This is year marks the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 13. Apollo 13 was to be the third mission to land on the Moon. An explosion in one of the oxygen tankscrippled the spacecraft during flight and the crew were forced to orbit the Moon and return to the Earthwithout landing. Sabrina will be conducting this class with information on the facts, crew and images ofApollo 13. "Houston, we've had a problem"

February marks African American History Month in the United States. Sue will be conducting a WatermarkClass, African American History that will commemorate African Americans from all walks of life celebratingtheir achievements in history, activism, music, art and culture.

Dust off those dancing shoes and get back on the floor! Each month, Gene shares his fancy footwork withus and encourages us to dance our cares away and explore some new steps. Some of the dances alreadyintroduced at the Mews are: Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz and the Cha Cha. Over the next four months, Gene andhis crew will be introducing some new dancing. Some new dancing this month will include Big Band andLine Dancing. Ballroom dancing is now being offered bi- monthly to the Town Center and the Inn communities and hasbeen switched to Fridays at 3:15 p.m. This new schedule has been working well and has been wellreceived.

We are pleased that Cindy is continuing her crowd pleasing class on baking this semester. Her classes thissemester will include many home made family recipes. The lives of the rich and famous have, and always will be, fascinating to those less glamorous. Stars areidolized around the world for both their good and bad qualities. This course will highlight some of ourmost beloved celebrities from the past. We will discuss what their life is or was like in the limelight, andreminisce memories we all share from their public appearances. Celebrity Corner is a great way to learnabout your favorite celebrities. From Lucile Ball to Liza Minelli, Laurel and Hardy to Johnny Carson thisclass will evoke memories and intrigue you with these fascinating life stories. Since the program starts offwith a who's who, the featured celebrity will always be a surprise.

Chinese New Year celebrated annually and has become an interesting, popular thing to celebrate inAmerica as well. Every year, the Chinese New Year is celebrated around a different animal that sortacoincides with American Zodiac. The difference is that every person has a different animal depending onthe year they were born and that animal is suppose to describe their personality and represent how theircoming year will prevail. Participants in the program will learn what animal represents them and theforecast of their coming year. It will be fun to see how well each person's animal describes them.

Music Therapist Deke Kincade is a crowd favorite in the Gardens. Deke brings an array of instruments withhim for all to participate during his monthly drum circle. The magic of music and rhythm fill the roomduring Deke's 1 hour sessions. Residents from assisted living also join in the fun. Every month Deke willteach a new rhythm and incorporates stories and much more during each program.

Ellis Island is a located in New York Harbor, within the states of New York and New Jersey,and contains amuseum and former immigration inspection station of the same name. As the nation's busiest immigrantinspection station from 1892 to 1954, it processed approximately 12 million immigrants to the UnitedStates through the Port of New York and New Jersey. Today, the island is part of the Statue of LibertyNational Monument, a U.S. national monument. The north side of the island hosts a museum ofimmigration, accessible only by ferry. The south side of the island, including the Ellis Island ImmigrantHospital, is abandoned but accessible to the public through guided tours.Participants will have a guided tour of their own as Sabrina will discuss to the past and present as youlearn all about Ellis Island.

Steve Bruce, our Town Center resident will be conducting a class on how to cope with grief after losing aloved one or family member. Steve began this program in November to help show participants how tocope with grief during the holidays. Due to the great turn out, Steve has asked if we would continue thisprogram to help anyone who is struggling with the loss of a loved one.

Each month, Bayada brings a different heath and wellness topic to our community. The topics vary and areposted in the Town Center main lobby and next to the elevator at the Inn. Participants will gain insight andknowledge of a variety of different wellness themes. A.J. also is available every 2nd and 4th Monday in theTown Center library for his "Ask the Bayada Therapist" hour. Residents can visit and bring any questionsand concerns that they may have. Starting Fridays in September, Bayada will be offering room safetychecks for anyone who is interested. They will be starting their rounds at 1:00 p.m.

We welcome this new program "Keyboard Karaoke with Bob". Bob is one of our residents at the Mewsand enjoys playing keyboard and other instruments. Bob will be playing keyboard for the Inn while ourresidents join in singing some of their favorite songs. Look for this new program on your calendars. It'sgoing to be lots of fun!

Sophia is a one of our newest community life team members and is sharing her love for knitting with a newWatermark class offering. She is hoping the class will bring newly interested participants as well asseasoned knitters as knitting is a fun social group offering as well.

Wii Bowling is a fun alternative to going to an actual bowling alley. It really feels like you are actuallybowling. Once a month, during our Wii practices, we invite new participants to learn. It takes a littlegetting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it is really fun! The Wii bowling teams from the Inn andthe Town Center have a tournament every month and compete against each other for fun and braggingrights. If you want to learn a new, fun sport, come and join us. You won't be sorry!

Carrol has been an Art Instructor at the Town Center for over a year now. Her class Masterpiece Studio isbecoming more and more popular.Each month the Town Center folks are able to explore their innerartist's within. During the Men's Club, Eileen will introduce new games and learning new skills to the participants. Someof the various events and programs are : playing Poker, Bridge, Blackjack and Gin Rummy or just gettingcaught up on sports talk or learning about your favorite teams. Occasional pool tournaments are heldduring the nicer weather at the Town Center. This is a great time for all the men to come together andenjoy an hour of activities of their choice. In memory of our beloved Clancy Jones, we are continuing this class offering in his honor. Clancy passedaway in 2018 and is missed by many.. Clancy loved sharing his love of poetry while exploring the meaningbehind the poets stories and their biographies as well. He often would use lyrics of a song as they arepoetic and have their own story to tell. You will discover the meanings of many old songs just by delvinginto the poetry of their writings.

Postcard Travels is a wonderful nostalgic and educational program that is performed by the community lifeteam. Each week participants are engaged in a different adventure. From favorite vacation spots to exoticcountries, each program takes the group on a different journey. AJ Gizzi Health Tips with Bayada

AJ Gizzi, Physical Therapist for BAYADA. With the goal of helping all residents to age in place, he offersongoing education, in-services, and screening events for both Residents and Staff. AJ graduated fromArcadia University with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011. He currently resides in WashingtonTownship, NJ with his wife and soon to be son.

Anna Catando A.R.T. Creations

Anna has been a member of our Community Life team at the Mews since 2017. She worked for acompany for 23 years as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Anna also works part-time for an ElvisTribute Artist. For the past 10 years, she handles all bookings and marketing for him. She enjoysphotography and graphic design. She also created her own business in 2009, A.R.T. Creations, using theinitials of the three members of her family. A.R.T. Creations is a graphic design business using Photoshop. Some of the jobs Anna has done in her business are... restoring old photos, photoshoots,creating personalized products for individuals such as favors for birthday parties, anniversary parties andweddings and creating auto flyer posters for those individuals out there who have antique cars that attendauto shows throughout the U.S. and abroad as well as projects for organizations. Anna also worksfreelance with Partners in Learning, a non-profit organization creating posters, flyers and such for theirannual events. She has a daughter in high school and has been married for 23 years. She enjoys spendingquality time with her family, writes poetry, enjoys cooking, loves the beach and loves animals.

Ben Vukicevick Music Therapy

Ben has been a board certified music therapist since 2001. He graduated from Immaculata University witha BA in music therapy. He implements music therapy techniques with a wide variety of individuals on adaily basis. Ben sings, plays guitar, piano, bass, harmonica, ukulele, and drums. He holds music therapysessions regularly in over 12 assisted living facilities in the area.

Betty Adams Science for Seniors

Betty is the sister of Community Life Director Sue Sacks. Betty is a retired Science teacher with manyhobbies and interests that she enjoys sharing with others. She has been a butterfly enthusiast formany years. It is a passionate hobby of hers. Now that Betty is retired, she enjoys sharing her knowledgeof science and her many hobbies with others. Some of her hobbies are ceramics, quilling, quilting andcrocheting. She loves to find treasures at yard sales and thrift markets and collects many of her supplieswhen browsing them.

Clarence "Clancy" Jones Poets Corner Inspired by Clancy

The late Clarence "Clancy" Jones was born June 3rd in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to Gloucester NewJersey when he was 14 years old and graduated top of the class from Gloucester High School. Heattended Drexel college for 7 1/2 with a sales / engineering degree. He was married 1947 to Lillian Hayes. He has four children and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Clarence was also in the Navy for two years during the end of WWII. Some hobbies he enjoys aregardening, reading poetry, loves to sing and loves to travel. He has traveled to Japan, Taiwan, China andthroughout Europe.

Cynthia Hibbard Baking at it's Best

Cindy started at the Mews as our Dining Room Supervisor in the Town Center and did a fabulous job. Shehas since changed positions and is now the new Administrative Assistant at the Town Center. To ourdelight and good fortune, Cindy will be continuing her culinary class as it is as much a favorite of hers as itis to her faithful participants. Cindy began her interest in the Culinary Arts working as a professional bakerin her father’s restaurant. She has three wonderful children and is the proud Grandmother of a beautifullittle boy.

Deke Kincade Drum Circle

Deke Kincade is a world-class musician sharing creativity and passion for rhythm through drum circlefacilitation, workshops, and performance on hand-drum and drum-kit. He builds community through thepower of music and drumming in schools and universities, residential and health care settings, and forcommunity and private groups. Joining other music-loving performers, Deke shares his experience ondrum kit, hand drums, and vocals in the studio and in clubs, festivals, and house-concerts.

Denise Austin Games Galore

Denise has been a team member of of nursing staff at the Mews for over 15 years. She has been thedirector of nursing for 3 years. She is married and lives locally. Her two sons Hunter( who works in outmaintenance department) and Chase are the love of her life. Denise enjoys attending their sportingevents, shopping, traveling in the summer. She also LOVES Elvis!

Elaine has four sons, two that live in Oklahoma, one that lives in New Jersey and one that lives inConnecticut. Gene LaPierre Ballroom Dancing

Gene has been a private dance instructor for over 20 years. He owns a studio in Glassboro, NJ. Gene’smotto reflects “Dance is more than just movement, dance can challenge your mind as well as yourmuscles”. Some of the exciting dances that will be touched on in his class include Ramba, Mambo, ChaCha and Swing. Gene has many other trained dance student instructors who often teach at the Mews aswell.

Jocelyn Aguilar Conversational Spanish

Jocelyn has been a member of the Woodbury Mews care giving team for three years. She was born andraised in Woodbury, New Jersey. She learned Spanish as her first language and speaks it fluently. One ofJoceyln's favorite hobbies is shopping. She just celebrated her first wedding anniversary. She and herhusband are both animal lovers and just adopted a brand new puppy named China.We are very pleased towelcome her as one of our new members of Watermark University.

Joyce is a resident from the Town Center neighborhood. She is a native New Yorker who was born, bred,and educated in the city. Joyce has spent 10 years on cancer research and 20 years teaching chemistryand astronomy in high school. She was also an adjunct professor at Post College in New York. Reading,computer work and needlepoint are her relaxations.

Judy Godshall Music & Composers

Judy Godshall started the Senior Welcome Line 27 years ago at the age of 50 with her now deceasedhusband Luke. Seniors have been brought together once a month for a Dutch treat luncheon sharingsenior issues. Married to her husband Luke, an Air Force veteran for 44 years, and living in four states,Judy attended Gloucester County College and studied several subjects over the years. Her music trainingwas in Delaware playing the organ. Judy has two sons and helped raise a girl who lived on the streets. This child calls her mom and has even named her daughter after her. Judy enjoys her grandchildren andgreat grandchildren and gives the lord prayers for the miracles in her life. Judy shares her love of musicwith our residents with her Watermark University program Music Appreciation. During her program sheplays songs of reminisce and discusses with her participants the song history and composer, whileencouraging reminiscing participation from her guests.

Kimberly Williams Art of Candy Making

Kim has been one of our dedicated nurses here at Woodbury Mews since 2003. In Kim's spare time, Kimenjoys volunteering at a local animal shelter or spending time with her own dogs. She also enjoys BibleStudy and spending time at the beach.

Lois Viola Fit For Life

Lois is a fitness instructor and personal trainer. She has been teaching a variety of classes for 18 years. Lois enjoys helping people. Her goal is to get everyone moving at their own pace, so they can feel goodand have a better quality of life.

Maria Lodge, PT, RYT has always been interested in wellness & exercise. In her 30 years as a PhysicalTherapist she has studied body structure, breath & movement. She began practicing yoga at a gym over 10years ago. At that time she enjoyed the physical practice & the stretching that yoga provided tocompliment more aggressive exercise. In 2012 after her father died of a prolonged illness she joined ayoga studio to get in shape & realized that yoga is so much more than a physical practice. Shebegan using yoga as a modality in her Physical Therapy practice & saw how it benefited her patients inmany ways. Rachelle grew up in Pennsylvania. She attended Rutgers University where she received her Bachelor ofPlant Science. She has resided in New Jersey for over 20 years. Her passion for gardening started when shewas eight years old where she had a garden made out of tinker toy sticks. She combined her passion ofworking with plants and people together and started her own business in 1989 called InspirationalHorticultural Therapy after becoming a registered Horticultural Therapist.

Robert was born in South Philadelphia. He began playing the keyboard when he was six years old. Robertwas married in 1994. As he got older, he played in clubs with a band called "Impact". He was a member ofthis band for 10 years. He also played in 10 additional bands. Robert also plays the Accordion. He has fivegrandchildren.

Rose has been a Community Life team member since October 2017. She was raised in East GreenwichNew Jersey. She was the captain of her tennis team at Kingsway High School and was also PromQueen! She has 2 sons and 1 daughter that she raised in Gibbstown, New Jersey who are now grown withone married. Steve is a resident at the Town Center in the Mews. Steve volunteers in many ways by offering his musicaltalents on Friday evenings at Town Center, the 2nd Monday of the month at the Gardens and alsoThursday mornings at the Inn. He graduated from Regents College with a major in sociology. He isrecently widowed from his wonderful wife of 45 years Dee Bruce. They have three children together andthree grandchildren. Steve is also retired from the US Navy. While in active duty, Steve was in charge ofall of the music for the religious services on the ship. He became a certified Lay Servant in 2001 and givesvarious talks to walk to Emmaus. He has continued his passion for teaching the bible by doing weeklybible studies here for the residents. He is just an all-around great guy and a pretty good pool player aswell. We are grateful for all he does at our community.

Vicki Pine Wines and Regions

Vicki is the head of transportation here at Woodbury Mews, but that does not limit where you can findher. This ever talented woman helps in whichever way she can. She is the mother of four children andloves being home and watching movies with them. She loves taking her family to the beach, or camping ather sister’s where bonfires are a requirement. She and her sister will “chat” for hours on those days. Sheenjoys her job and spending time with all those that reside in the community.
