again won a bucket load of Great Taste Awards (the Oscars of

the fine food industry). As luck would have it, all our winning

recipes are perfect for warming your cockles (wherever they

may be) on a cold winter’s night.

Prison Scheme update...Back in the spring we wrote about The Big Society and Small-Minded Insurance Companies, after our insurer forced us to close a scheme we were running at the Kitchen to help rehabilitate offenders near the end of their prison sentences. We can now report a victory for common sense, as at the 11th hour our insurance company had a re-think and has allowed us to reinstate the scheme.

What’s COOKing?

Our DifferenceAt COOK we make remarkable food for yourfreezer, prepared by hand at our Kitchen in

Kent using the same ingredients andtechniques you would at home.

It means our food looks and tastes homemade (maybe even a bit better).

And on every COOK dish you’ll find thename of the chef who prepared your food.

Fingers crossed for a great British Year

2012, another big year in prospect. March will see us celebrate our 15th birthday. It’s nice to think of ourselves as awkward teenagers despite our expanding girths, receding hairlines and failing eyesight (see pic). We will, of course, try and include everyone in the teenage festivities.

We will also be celebrating all things British throughout the year. Our glasses are always half full so, despite the prevailing mood of gloom, we believe there is much for us Brits to be cheerful about: the Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and the fact we buy stuff with pounds not euros…

We’re going to be celebrating some of our favourite Great British recipes and doing lots of other fun, foodie and frivolous stuff that we can somehow shoehorn into a Great British theme.

First up is the reinvention of our Great British Pie recipes, arriving in store in mid-January – just as cold, dark days are starting to get you down.

Happy New Year.
