Jan. 31 – Caesarea Maritima / Mount Carmel / Nazareth – Place of the Precipice / SepphorisJourney to Caesarea by the Sea and stand in the place where it isbelieved Paul addressed King Herod and Festus (Acts 25, 26). This portcity reveals many extensive remains of the theater and other sites,including a Roman aqueduct along the Mediterranean shore. Continueon your journey to Mt. Carmel where Elijah defeated the prophets ofBaal (1 Kings 18). Biblically, Mt. Carmel is referenced most often as asymbol of beauty and fertility. Visit Nazareth, the boyhood home ofJesus (Matthew 2: 23) and the Mount of Precipice, where Lukedescribes how Jesus was rejected by those in the synagogue after Hetaught them. Filled with anger they “led Him unto the brow of the hillwhereon their city was built, that they might cast Him down headlong”(Luke 4: 29). Visit Sepphoris, the cosmopolitan Roman capital ofGalilee until Herod Antipas built Tiberias. It is heralded as thetraditional birthplace of Mary and possibly where Joseph and a youngJesus labored. Check‐in to your Galilee hotel for dinner and overnight.

Feb. 1 – Northern Israel – Caesarea Philippi / Tel Dan /Katzrin / Safed Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveled with His disciples andwhere nearby Peter made his great confession to Jesus, "Thou art theChrist, the Son of the living God" (Matt. 16:16). Stop at Tel Dan, oneof ancient Israel’s boundary markers – “From Dan to Beersheba”. Nearthe city of Katzrin is the Talmudic Village of Katzrin; a reconstructedvillage that has been brought to life in the actual location of a villagefrom Talmudic times. Visit Safed, one of the sacred Jewish cities nowan artist's colony. It is possibly "the city on a hill" that Christmentioned. In Safed visit the two Synogogues, Joseph Caro and AriAshkenazi and spend time in reflection. Return to your hotel for dinnerand overnight.

Feb. 2 – Galilee – Morning Boat Ride / Bethsaida / Chorazim /Capernaum / Mount of Beatitudes / Magdala / Valley of the Wind This morning, pray and sing hymns as you cross the waters of the Seaof Galilee by boat. See Mount Hermon and travel to Bethsaida, whichis the fishing village of the Gospels. Walk the streets of Chorazim, listedas a "city of woe" by Jesus (Matthew 11). Next, travel to Capernaum,the center of Jesus’ ministry. At the Mount of Beatitudes read theSermon on the Mount (Matt. 5‐7). Continue to Magdala, once hometo Mary Magdalene, visit a recently discovered first‐centurysynagogue. Pass through the Valley of the Doves, a major pathwayin the time of Christ, and He and his disciples passed through thisvalley as they walked the Galilee. Return to your hotel for dinner andovernight.

Feb. 3 – Beit Shean / Masada / En Gedi / Dead Sea swim / Judean Wilderness / Mount Scopus OverlookBegin your day with a visit to Beit Shean, which has been occupied forover 5,000 years and view the country’s best‐preserved Romanamphitheater and other impressive Roman city remains. Travel toMasada, Herod’s mountaintop fortress, which became the laststronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans. Ride the cablecar to the top to explore. Peer down upon the remains of the Romancamps and siege ramp. Continue to Ein Gedi and visit the naturepreserve and waterfall where David hid from Saul. Take time for aswim in the Dead Sea. Arriving in Jerusalem you’ll have your first viewof the Old City from Mt. Scopus. Retire to your Jerusalem hotel fordinner and overnight.

Feb. 4 – Zedekiah's Cave / Shepherds’ Fields / Mount of Olives / Palm Sunday Road / Dominus Flevit / Jewish Cemeteries /GethsemaneToday you will see the Shepherds' Fields, where David raised his sheepand where the Good News of Jesus’ birth was shared (Luke 2). Feb. 5 – Jerusalem ‐ Temple Mount / Kotel Tunnels / Western Wall/ Southern Wall Excavations / Jewish Quarter / Temple Institute This morning time permitting, stand on the Temple Mount where theJewish Temple once stood and the Dome of the Rock now stands. Walkthrough the Kotel Tunnels that pass along the foundations of Herod’sTemple Mount. Enter the Old City and visit the Southern WallExcavations of the Temple including the Teaching Steps and theWestern Wall. Stop to pray at the Western Wall, where Jews havegathered through the centuries. Continue your journey through theJewish Quarter to the Cardo. See replicas of the service instrumentsfor the Temple at the Temple Institute. Before finishing the day, visitthe Shorashim Biblical Shop. Return to your hotel for dinner andovernight.

Feb. 6 – Jerusalem – St. Peter in Gallicantu / Pools of Bethesda /Antonia Fortress / Via Dolorosa / Church of the Holy Sepulchre /Garden TombWe visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. Here we comprehendthe meaning of “the pit” (Psalm 88), where Jesus may have beenbrought before Caiaphas, and the site of Peter’s denial (Luke 22). Viewthe Pool of Bethesda described as a healing pool in John 5. See thepavement from the Antonia Fortress in the basement of the Sisters ofZion Church. Here "games" Roman soldiers played are carved into thestone. The grooved stones indicate that horses departed from thefortress here, and is the traditional beginning of the Via Dolorosa.Walk the Via Dolorosa ("the Way of the Cross") to the Church of theHoly Sepulchre, built on the traditional sites of the crucifixion andburial of Jesus. Finally, we visit the Garden Tomb (Gordon’s Calvary)and end with a communion service. Return to your hotel for dinnerand overnight and prepare for your return flights tomorrow.
