Bless us all, O Lord, we pray, for loved ones, here and

near, and far away. And everyone for whom we pray. Keep

us safe each night and day, the homeless who have no

place to stay. Those who are suffering in any way. The

dying, those mourning or grieving and all who need God's

mercy. Keep us safe, Heavenly Father, when we are at

home, or travelling on our way, or when we are

vulnerable, or in danger in any way. Most merciful

Father, hear us as we pray for the souls in Purgatory, or

who may be sent there some day.

PASTOR’S CORNER St. Paul says, “The kingdom of God is not food and drink but

righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” However, Jews

did not recognize these Kingdom teachings. They were expecting

of Royal Messiah and His reign. Jesus would say, “My kingdom

is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my

servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered

over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” (Jn

18:36) What is the specialty of the Kingdom of God? It explains

the eternal presence of God. Therefore, we cannot think of

Heaven apart from God. When Jesus came to this world, the

whole court of Heaven also followed Him. That is why Jesus asks

for repentance.

Therefore, if we feel that we have not been cooperative enough

with God to realize his kingdom, we are called to repent. “Repent,

believe in the Gospel” (Mark 1:15). To believe in the Gospel is to

take God at his word and believe in our destiny. To repent is to

challenge. It is to one’s senses with a corresponding change in

conduct. It is changing our perspective to God’s perspective. It is

reviewing our gifts, obligations, opportunities and activities in the

light of God’s Kingdom. It is turning more and more away, for

example, from selfishness and laziness or prejudice and

stubbornness or from greed and possessiveness. Deathbed

repentance are possible but not desirable, for those which seemed

to be deathbed repentances have seldom turned out to be worth

anything, when the patient has recovered. Hence repent now, for

the time is now. Change now, for the Kingdom is here.

San Pablo dice: "El reino de Dios no es comida y bebida, sino

justicia, paz y gozo en el Espíritu Santo." Sin embargo, los judíos

no reconocieron esas enseñanzas del Reino. Esperaban al Mesías

Real y Su reinado. Jesús diría: "Mi reino no es de este mundo. Si

mi reino fuera de este mundo, mis siervos habrían estado luchando

para que no me entregaran a los judíos. Pero mi reino no es del

mundo". (Jn 18:36) ¿Cuál es la especialidad del Reino de Dios?

Explica la presencia eterna de Dios. Por lo tanto, no podemos

pensar en el Cielo aparte de Dios. Cuando Jesús vino a este

mundo, toda la corte del Cielo también lo siguió. Es por eso que

Jesús pide arrepentimiento.

Por lo tanto, si sentimos que no hemos cooperado lo suficiente

con Dios para realizar su reino, estamos llamados a arrepentirnos.

"Arrepentíos, creed en el Evangelio" (Marcos 1:15). Creer en el

Evangelio es tomar a Dios en su palabra y creer en nuestro

destino. Arrepentirse es desafiar. Es a los sentidos con un cambio

de conducta correspondiente. Está cambiando nuestra perspectiva

a la perspectiva de Dios. Está repasando nuestros dones,

obligaciones, oportunidades y actividades a la luz del Reino de

Dios. Se está alejando cada vez más, por ejemplo, del egoísmo y

la pereza o los prejuicios y la terquedad o de la codicia y la

posesividad. El arrepentimiento en el lecho de la muerte es

posible pero no deseable, ya que aquellos que parecían ser

arrepentimientos en el lecho de muerte rara vez han resultado

valer, cuando el paciente se ha recuperado. Por lo tanto,

arrepiéntete ahora, porque el momento es ahora. Cambio ahora,

porque el Reino está aquí.

who is retiring on February 26th. Mercedes has been

Secretary at St Thomas for 21 years. She will be greatly

missed by staff and parishioners alike. We know you all

will join us in wishing Mercedes well as she starts a new

chapter in her life.

Since we are unable to do a traditional retirement

reception, we are considering a virtual or drive-through

retirement celebration. There will be more information

later.
