The Bridge Club is happy to help
local fund raising efforts of the
Oconee Regional Humane Society
(ORHS). The ORHS is very
apprecia!ve of the generous
dona!on of $120.00. The
con!nued financial support the
club provided gives many
animals the possibility to be
fostered, adopted and treated.
The Garden Club wishes all Del Webb residents a Happy
New Year! Let’s toast to yesterday’s achievements and
tomorrow’s bright future.
As our thoughts turn from winter to spring, we start
thinking of yummy fresh vegetables, not those green-
house grown vegies from the local stores. Paying $2.00 for
a single green pepper at the local market – ouch! Do you
really know where it comes from? How about all those
special chemicals they use to make it grow faster & give it
a longer shelf life?
At the garden club, freshness is the name of the game.
It’s that !me of the year, !me to get a garden plot. We
have 5 x 5 foot plots for $10.00 and 5 x 10 foot plots for
$20.00. If you are not already a
member, there is a one !me
$20.00 fee to join the Garden

CARE BEARS - HERE FOR YOU
Care Bears is here to keep you informed.
We let you know how, when and why you
can care for each other. We never send
out an email unless it is approved by the
persons involved. No rumors, no someone
said, just the facts, and only the facts. During a stressful me,
it is a comfort to be able to say “no visitors, please” or
“visitors are welcome, just call first”. Li%le things such as
cards and prayers can make a big difference. Care Bears can
not read minds, we can only assist you if you give us a call.
Don’t be shy, if you need something, your neighbors might
just surprise you.

A Difficult Year; A Unique Event
TIME was the focus on December 31 at
the clubhouse with the reveal of Del
Webb's time capsule, now "entombed" on
a shelf in the sunroom, to be opened on
December 31, 2030. Clubs and residents
submitted artifacts and memories to be
encapsulated as a celebration of the time
since Del Webb Lake Oconee began, the
growth of neighborhoods, and numerous
activities in the community. The list of the
capsule's contents will be displayed during
January. At the unique New Year's Eve
festivity from noon until four, seven
socially-distanced guests had twenty minutes to take selfies with Father Time, answer surveys,
receive treats and goodies, listen to music with a TIME theme, watch a visual diary of DWLO, hope
for the winning raffle ticket, and see the suspended time capsule behind plexiglass. The number of
the winning raffle ticket will be announced by eblast on January 8.

Welcome to the New Year! It is such a wonderful thing to have moved out of 2020 and
into the brand-new year. We have so many things lined up for this coming year, and I
look forward to them all. We will be opening a new entrance to the property and with
that, a new access system that should make everyone’s life easier. We will be renovating
the bocce courts, so they are ready for spring play and so much more.
People are moving to Del Webb like crazy and we love having all these new members and
their enthusiasm for living here on the lake. It is the best after all. Seriously, our growth
has been phenomenal coming into 2021. We are all enjoying the growth. However, we do
miss those who have moved away to be near the kids; their contribution will be missed.
Come one, come all to help us celebrate this New Year of possibilities. Anything seems
possible…

We are looking for people and ideas to put together a February Winter Games that can be a fun and
energetic kick to get people moving and out of the house.
Let’s try to think outside the box to come up with easy and open activities that are planned and
executed by each Charter Club or Interest Group, set up and designed by them to give participants a
hands on feel for the equipment or activity.
Create a new twist to an existing game or activity or just give those who partake an example of how
a game is played or tips for gameplay. Enjoy meeting a few members from each sport or activity.
Then be ready to come and participate, be a spectator, or just a fan of the sport or activity.
Sports aren’t your passion? Then look past that to other things going on outdoors in your community:
walking the sidewalk with a pedometer, riding a bike, playing frisbee or walking the dogs. How about
photography? Are you willing to step up and lead a session??
Be ready for the Hula Hoop, Yo-Yo spinning or a basketball shoot. Think creatively for ways to
increase your (and other’s) activity, joy, and community involvement.
Give Lifestyle an email and let the organizing begin! We will plan socially distant and safe events
with levels of activity that everyone can try at least once.

to meet new and old friends.
It was a good first year for our new interest group in Del Webb!
Collec8vely 100 Who Care Del Webb Lake Oconee members
donated a total of $21,051.00 to four local chari8es in 2020: Victory
Train, The Greene County Food Pantry, Circle of Love and Chris8an
Outreach ThriL Store. What wonderful contribu8ons to help our
community and neighbors. This awesome giving group of Del Webb
residents are making a difference!
This is how it works: Each quarter members nominate local 501c3
chari8es in the Lake Oconee Region. The charity is invited to speak/
present informa8on to the members and then members vote. Checks are wri6en
directly to the winning charity and then all checks are presented collec8vely to the
charity. Members agree to contribute a minimum of $25.00 each quarter.
All residents are invited to join. An envelope of membership registra8on forms is taped
to the front window at the Clubhouse for your convenience.
Del Webb cares about our community and we are making a posi8ve impact!
