[email protected] Bradlee Foerschner Executive Director Here’s to a new year and new friendships at Belmont Village Thousand Oaks! You may notice some new faces in the community. We have many new residents who have joined us toward the end of 2016. Our Resident Council has been working hard to put together a new and revitalized Welcome Committee. The Welcome Committee will be spearheaded by Donnie Hansen, our Sales Assistant. She will be meeting twice per month with members of the committee and discussing future residents that are moving into Belmont Village Thousand Oaks. At this meeting Donnie will be looking for volunteers to help greet our new residents and help them acclimate to our community. Examples of this would be offering to sit with them for a meal or two, meeting them at their apartment and walking with them to an activity that they would enjoy, or perhaps just having a cup of coffee in the bistro. You may recall being a bit overwhelmed when you first came to the community. Whether you came from your home or from another care setting, the adjustment to a new place can be a lot to handle all at once. The goal of the Welcome Committee is to help new residents feel at home as quickly as possible! What better way to do that than to have our current residents help newcomers adjust? Do you have a desire to volunteer your time in a way that will better our community? Do you simply just enjoy meeting new people and developing new friendships? If so, then this committee is for you! If you are interested in being on the Welcome Committee, please see either Neil Fleming our Resident Council President or Donnie Hansen our Sales Assistant.
