Hosparus Southern Indiana needs patient support volunteers inClark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Scott and Washington counties
and will host a free training on Saturday, January 29th from 9am to5pm (lunch and snacks provided) at its New Albany location.

Maverick Challenge
The Maverick Challenge is a high school business planning competition for highschool students in Southern Indiana including Austin and Scottsburg. The programaims to further develop the innovative spirit of our region by reaching out to highschool students and showing them viable career opportunities throughentrepreneurship.
Working with Dave Church, business teachers Ms. Tally in Austin and Ms. Depreistand Mr. Crenshaw in Scottsburg students had access to all the tools needed to taketheir business idea from a concept and develop it into a full business plan. Onlinetools were offered in the development phase of the project. Students had to presenttheir business plan to judges Matt Carter, Kelly Dulaney, and Ray Niehaus.
The Top Two Austin school Maverick Challenge team winners will now compete atMASPark on February 3rd. The winner from this competition will then compete onSaturday, February 25th, in Columbus with the other winners from each participatingcounty for the grand prize. Over $800 in prize money was won in Scott County thisyear.
This is a great opportunity to help students learn about viable career opportunities,networking with and being mentored by entrepreneurs in the community.
