I recently received a copy of this prayer and wanted to share it with all of you. May it be a blessing as we follow the Lord into the new year. My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not know the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact, please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore, I will trust you always, though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. Thomas Merton (1915-1968) The Trinity Torch Pastor: Rev. Transcript of January 2012 Torch

I recently received a copy of this prayer

and wanted to share it with all of you. May it

be a blessing as we follow the Lord into the

new year.

My Lord God,

I have no idea where I am going.

I do not know the road ahead of me.

I cannot know for certain

where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself,

and the fact that I think

I am following your will

does not mean that I am actually doing so.

But I believe that the desire to please you

does in fact, please you.

And I hope I have that desire

in all that I am doing.

I hope that I will never do anything

apart from that desire.

And I know that if I do this

you will lead me by the right road,

though I may know nothing about it.

Therefore, I will trust you always,

though I may seem to be lost

and in the shadow of death.

I will not fear,

for you are ever with me,

and you will never leave me

to face my perils alone.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

SUNDAY MORNING: Our custom is to have

Worship & Sunday School for anyone who can safely get to

church, but in case of extreme inclement weather

(wide-spread ice, deep snow, or power outage),

the pastor has the authority to cancel for Sunday morning.

If a cancellation occurs, it will be announced

on WGRV (1340 AM, Channel 18).

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY: If City Schools are

closed, then all Wednesday evening activities will be

cancelled (meal, program, and music practices).

COMMITTEE MEETINGS: If City Schools are closed,

the Chairperson will decide whether to cancel or to meet as

scheduled. The Chairperson is responsible for notifying

their members of the meeting status.

CHURCH OFFICE: If City Schools are closed, a decision

will be made that morning as to the ability of the church

staff to travel safely to and from the office. As a result, the

church office may be closed all day, or it may open late

and/or close early. Safety will be the primary consideration

in determining when the church office is open during

inclement weather.

"PUMPKIN ROLLS"

It's that time of the year again, Lister Circle will be making "PUMPKIN

ROLLS" for the holidays. They will be ready for pick-up on Nov. 12th, 13th,

& 16th. The cost is $8.00 per roll and will be available by "order" only.

(Please use order-form provided on the back of this page.)

NOTE: Deadline to order is November 6th.

…………………………………………………………………………….…………………………

"Kids Night Out"

"Kids Night Out" sponsored by the Lister Circle on

Saturday, Dec 3rd, 6:30pm - 10:30pm in the large hall at

Trinity. This event is for children 5th grade and under. We will

offer food, games, crafts, Bible stories and a movie. This will

allow adults the opportunity to go Christmas shopping or attend a

Christmas gathering. The cost is by donation, but reservations

are required so we will be prepared for all our participants.

Please RSVP to any Lister Circle member or the church office.

For more information, call Lori Knapp @ 329-7959
