Молитва Церковної Спільноти Участь вірних у Проскомидії

Священнослужитель звершує Проскомидію у святилищі за зачиненими Царськими дверима, однак кожен вірний теж є її безпосереднім учасником. Вірні беруть участь у Проскомидії, подаючи прохання за себе та за інших людей і приносячи пожертви. Покладання на одному дискосі "поіменних" частичок виявляє належність усіх вірних до одного Христового Тіла, а через це – сопричастя з Богом та одне з одним. Кожний є неповторною особою, яку Бог називає по імені. Коли приносимо й віддаємо Богові наші "житейські печалі", то виходимо за межі приватного і входимо в нове, церковне, соборне сопричастя. Тепер вірні приготовані до "спільного діла" – Літургії. Благословляючи кадило під час Проскомидії, священик мовить: "Кадило Тобі приносимо, Христе, Боже наш, як приємний запах духовний; Ти ж прийми його в пренебесний Твій жертовник і зішли нам благодать Пресвятого Твого Духа." Кадильний дим, підносячись до неба, є знаком піднесення нашої молитви до Бога, а наповнюючи храм, він є символом присутності Святого Духа. Тому на початку Літургії Слова священнослужитель обкаджує престол та ікони, а також присутніх людей – носіїв образу Божого.

Літургія Слова (Літургія оглашенних) Христос виходить на проповідь після хрещення в Йордані від Йоана, закликаючи: "Сповнився час, і Царство Боже близько; покайтеся і вірте в Євангеліє." Він проповідує Царство протягом трьох років і звершує його в Пасхальному таїнстві. На Тайній Вечері Христос дарував апостолам участь у Царстві – своєму божественному житті – через Слово та Євхаристію. Таке поєднання Слова і Таїнства не випадкове. Як Богородиця спочатку прийняла до серця Слово і з’єдналася з Ним, так і ми приймаємо до серця Слово і виконуємо Його, коли єднаємося з Ним у таїнстві Причастя: "Мати моя й брати мої – це ті, що слухають Слово Боже і його виконують" . Тому в Божественній Літургії Христос спочатку живить нас своїм Словом (Апостола, Євангелія і проповіді), а тоді Тілом і Кров’ю (Причастя).

The Prayer of the Church Community The Participation of the Faithful in the Proskomide

The priest serves the Proskomide in the sanctuary behind the closed Royal Doors. Nevertheless, each member of the faithful also participates in it in a direct way. The faithful take part in the Proskomide by presenting requests for prayers for themselves and for others, and by bringing offerings. Placing of the named particles side by side on the diskos shows that all the faithful belong to the one Body of Christ. Their communion with God and with one another is thus expressed. Each of the faithful is a unique person, whom God knows by name, and at the same time no one is sufficient unto themselves. When we bring and offer to God “all the cares of our life,” we transcend our private lives and enter into a new and ecclesial, comprehensive and universal communion. Now the faithful are ready for the communal work — the Liturgy. Blessing the incense during the Proskomide, the priest says: “Christ, our God, we offer you incense as a pleasing spiritual fragrance. Having received it upon your heavenly altar, send us in return the grace of your most holy Spirit.” As it rises to heaven, the smoke of the incense signifies our prayers rising to God, and as it fills the church building it is a sign of the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is why at the beginning of the Liturgy of the Word, the deacon censes the Holy Table and the icons—as well as the faithful, who are the living bearers of God’s image (in Greek, eikon).

The Liturgy of the Word (Liturgy of Catechumens) After his baptism by John in the Jordan, Jesus began his preaching, crying out: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news” He preaches the kingdom for three years and brings it to fruition in the Paschal Mystery. At the Mystical Supper, Christ gave the apostles a share in the kingdom — his divine life — through the Word and the Eucharist. This joining of the Word and the Mystery is not a coincidence. As the Mother of God first received the Word into her heart and united herself to him, so also we receive the Word into our hearts and put it into practice when we join ourselves to him in the mystery of Communion: “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.” This is why in the Divine Liturgy Christ feeds (prod. na stor. 4) (cont. on pg. 4)

за єдність приготували мальтійці В центрі уваги – розповідь про сповнене небезпек

прибуття святого Павла на Мальту та гостинність

місцевого люду, виявлена його супутникам, корабель яких

ледь не потонув у розбурханому морі.

"Вони поводилися з нами з неабиякою людяністю." Так

автор Діянь Апостолів описав ставлення мальтійців до

постраждалих від корабельної аварії, які причалили до

їхнього берега, між якими був святий Павло. Ці слова

стали темою Тижня молитов за єдність християн 2020.

Починаючи від 1975 року, тему та тексти, призначені для

роздумів, приготовляють християни якоїсь країни чи

регіону, а пізніше їх затверджують спеціальна Комісія

Всесвітньої Ради Церков та Папська Рада сприяння

єдності християн. Цьогорічні матеріали приготовані

християнами Мальти.

Стихія, людина й провидіння

У вступній частині зазначається, що християни Мальти

10 лютого відзначають свято на честь прибуття Апостола

народів на їхній острів, складаючи подяку за прихід віри

на їхні землі. Тема роздумів, запропонована для

цьогорічної молитви за єдність, почерпнута із уривка з

Книги Діянь Апостолів, який читається під час літургій з

нагоди свята.

Подія корабельної аварії, йдеться в посібнику,

"представляє драму людства перед обличчям загрозливої

сили природних стихій", у контексті якої бачимо

спроможність святого Павла височіти немов "маяк спокою

серед тривоги", оскільки він знає, "що його життя в Божих

руках." Упорядники підкреслюють, як під час шторму й

катастрофи різні між собою люди, з відмінними

поглядами, "живі й здорові дістаються до берега разом",

огорнуті "Божою любов’ю й провидінням."

Виклик для сучасних християн У цьому контексті вказується на "очевидну аналогію" із

сучасністю, коли "чимало людей долають такі самі

перешкоди в такому самому морі." Місця, описані в

Святому Письмі, пов’язані з мігрантами сьогодення. Їхні

життя наражаються не лише на природні сили, але також

на байдужість з боку політичних, економічних і людських

сил.

Таким чином, розповідь з Діянь Апостолів "ставить

перед нами виклик, як перед християнами, що разом

реагують на кризу, пов’язану з міграцією." "Чи ми

вступаємо в змову із байдужими силами, а чи приймаємо з

людяністю, стаючи свідками сповненого любові Божого

провидіння до кожної людини?" – запитують укладачі

цьогорічних молитовних роздумів, наголошуючи на тому,

що "гостинність – це дуже необхідна чеснота в шуканні

єдності між християнами." Кожен з восьми днів ініціативи

присвячений окремій темі: примирення, світло, надія,

довіра, сила, гостинність, навернення та великодушність.

Екуменічна ситуація на Мальті У посібнику також описана екуменічна ситуація в країні. Хоч більшість населення становлять католики, на островах не бракує представників інших традицій. Розташування Мальти на перехресті

The Prayer of Christians

must be the Breath of the Church In a previously unpublished work, Pope Francis highlights the

role of prayer in the Christian life. The text is contained in a

new book entitled La Preghiera. (Prayer: the breath of the new life).

Baptism is the beginning of new life.

But what does new life mean?

The new life of baptism is not new as when we change

work or move to another city, and say: I have begun a new life.

Certainly in these cases life changes, perhaps a great deal. It is

different from what has gone before: better or worse, more

interesting or less so, according to the individual cases. The

conditions, the context, the colleagues, acquaintances and

perhaps even friendships, the house, the salary are different.

But it is not a new life; it is the same life that goes on.

The new life of baptism also differs from a radical change

in our feelings for a lover; or a disappointment; a disease;

an important yet unforeseen event.

Things of that kind can befall us like an earthquake,

internally and externally: they can change our values, our

fundamental choices: affections, work, health, service to

others. Before one might have thought of a career, and later

begin to work as a volunteer; or even give one’s own life as a

gift for others! Before one might not have thought of building

a family; later, they might experience the beauty of conjugal

and familial love.

These too, which are great, extraordinary changes, are still

“only” of transformations. They are modifications that lead us

to a more beautiful and dynamic life, or a more difficult and

tiring one. It’s no coincidence – when we talk about them –

that we always use the expressions “more” or “less”. We could

say that they have made our existence more beautiful, more

joyful, more exciting. It is because we are always making

comparisons between things that are more or less similar. It is

as if we were measuring things on a scale of values. In our

earlier life, joy was a “5”, now joy is a “7”; our health before

was a “9”, now it is a “4”. The numbers change, but not

the substance of life!

But the new life of baptism is not new only in respect to the

past, to our earlier life, to our life before. New doesn’t

mean recent, it doesn’t signify that there was [only] a

modification, a change.

The life of God is communion - given to us as a friendship.

The new life of which Saint Paul speaks in his letters

reminds us of the new commandment of Jesus; it reminds us

of the new vine of the Kingdom, the new song that the saved

sing before the throne of God: of the definitive realities; that is,

to use theological word, eschatological.

So we understand that for the new life it is not possible to

make comparisons. How could you possibly compare life and

death, or life before and after birth? Christ did not become one

of us, He did not live His Pasch of the passion, death, and

resurrection to make our life “better”, to make it more

beautiful, more desirable, longer, more intense, easy, or happy.

He came – as He told us – that we might have life in

abundance.

This is the new life, the life that God the Father presents to

us in baptism. It is new because it is another life with respect

to our own, because it is His life, it is the very life (cont. on pg. 4) (prod. na stor. 4)

Перші екуменічні зустрічі розпочалися в 60-х роках минулого століття, коли група католицьких священиків встановила контакти з капеланами британських військових сил, розквартированих на Мальті, щоб обговорювати питання спільного зацікавлення та помолитися разом. Саме Мальта стала місцем перших зустрічей в рамках офіційного католицько-англіканського та католицько -лютеранського діалогу. Сьогодні "Christians Together" – Екуменічна Рада Мальти, заснована 1995 року єзуїтом Морісом Еміньяном, включає представників різних конфесій, що зустрічаються кожні два місяці. Крім спільних молінь, ініціативи діалогу включають спільні проекти солідарності й служіння потребуючим, хворим і літнім людям. Християни Мальти також організовують спільні відзначення Дня молитви за створений світ 1 вересня. Вісім днів молитов і зустрічей Проведення такого молитовного тижня 1908 року започаткував Пол Воттсон, американський пастор англіканського віровизнання, який через рік став католиком. Хоч ініціатива називається "Тиждень", насправді вона триває вісім днів: від 18 до 25 січня. Дати її проведення були запропоновані засновником, її завершальним днем є свято, встановлене на згадку про навернення святого Павла. В південній півкулі, беручи до уваги той факт, що січень припадає на період літніх відпусток, молитовний тиждень проводиться в контексті П’ятидесятниці. В Святій Землі такі моління відбуваються протягом тижня перед останньою неділею січня. Протягом цього періоду визнавці різних конфесій звершують особливу молитву за відновлення єдності між послідовниками Христа, беручи участь в екуменічних богослуженнях, конференціях, концертах та інших заходах. У рамках Тижня у багатьох місцевостях існує звичай "обміну проповідниками", тобто, екуменічна зустріч щодня відбувається в храмах різних конфесій, під час яких проповідь виголошують служителі інших конфесій. of God. This is the great gift that He has given us and that

Jesus gives us! To participate in the love of the Father, of the

Son, and of the Holy Spirit. To participate in the love that

They have for all men and for all creation. The new life is the

life of God given to us!

We Christians have always sought after images and

symbols to express this immense gift. We are many, different,

yet we are one only, we are the Church. And this unity is that

of love, which does not compel, does not humiliate, does not

limit us, but strengthens us, builds all of us up together, and

makes us friends. Jesus has a very beautiful expression in the Gospel: “This is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Him whom you have sent.” It is He Himself who tells us that true life is the encounter with God; and that the encounter with God is the knowledge of God. We know, further, from the Bible that it is not knowing the person only with the head, because “to know” means “to love”. And this is the life that God has given to us: the love that becomes ours, and little by little makes us grow, thanks to the Holy Spirit, and enlightens even our little daily expressions, “Thank you”, “May I?”, “Sorry”.

Although the words are inadequate, it can be said that the

new life is to discover oneself to pertain to Someone, to belong

to Someone, and in Him to belong to all. Belonging means

that each one is for the other.

This reminds me of what the bride says in the Song of

Songs: “My beloved is mine and I am his.” So, day after day,

the Holy Spirit is bringing to completion the prayer of Jesus

to the Father: “I do not pray for these only, but also for those

who believe in me through their word: that they may all be

one; even as thou, Father, are in Me, and I in Thee, that they

also may be in Us.”

One of the most ancient images – used already by St. Paul

– in order to express this belonging, this living-with – is that

of the body, the Head of which is Christ, while we are the

members (“Now you are the body of Christ and individually

members of it.”

The symbol of the body

In the human body, there are some essential functions,

such as breathing and the beating of the heart.

I like to imagine that the personal and communal prayer of

us Christians is the breath, the heartbeat of the Church, which

instills its strength in the service of those who work, study,

teach; which makes fruitful the knowledge of educated people

and the humility of simple people; which gives hope to the

tenacity of those who fight injustice.

Prayer is our saying “yes” to the Lord, to His love that

reaches us; it is welcoming the Holy Spirit Who, without ever

growing weary, pours out love and live upon all.

Saint Seraphim of Sarov, a great spiritual teacher of the

Russian Church, said, “Acquiring the Spirit of God is therefore

the true end of our Christian life, to the point that prayer, vigils, fasting, almsgiving, and other virtuous actions done in

the Name of Christ are only means for this end” [Colloquy

with Motovilov]. You are not always conscious of breathing,

We approach the Liturgy of the Word not as a simple recollection of Christ’s preaching long ago, but rather as

the living Word. Christ continues to preach today, and

we not only read this Word but also receive it as

nourishment . Through the proclaimed and preached Word

in the liturgical assembly, Christ himself addresses the
