John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world he gave hisone and only Son that whoever believesin him shall not perish but have eternallife. For God did not send his Son intothe world to condem the world, but tosave the world through him. Whoeverbelieves in him is not condemned, butwhoever does not believe stands con-demned already because he has notbelieved in the name of God’s one andonly Son.

You Just Can't Fix Stupid!! ONE
Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu
that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken
McNuggets. I asked for a half dozen nuggets. "We don't
have half dozen nuggets," said the teenager at the
counter. "You don't?" I replied. "We only have six, nine,
or twelve," was the reply. "So I can't order a half dozen
nuggets, but I can order six?" "That's right." So I shook
my head and ordered six McNuggets
TWO
I was checking out at the local Wal-Mart with just a few
items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt
close to mine. I picked up one of those "dividers" that
they keep by the cash register and placed it between our
things so they wouldn't get mixed. After the girl had
scanned all of my items, she
picked up the "divider", looking it all over for the bar code
so she could scan it. Not findin g the bar code she said
to me, "Do you know how much this is?" I said to her
"I've changed my mind, I don't think I'll buy that today."
She said "OK," and I paid her for the things and left. She
had no clue to what had just happened.
THREE A lady at work was seen putting a credit card
into her floppy drive and pulling it out very quickly. When
I inquired as to
what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the
Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number,
so she was using the ATM "thingy."
FOUR I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping
beside her car. " Do you need some help?" I asked. She
replied, "I knew I should have replaced the battery to this
remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do
you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store)
would have a battery to fit this?" "Hmmm,
I dunno. Do you have an alarm, too?" I asked. "No, just
this remote thingy," she answered, handing it and the
car keys to me. As I took the key and manually unlocked
the door, I replied, "Why don't you drive o ver there and
check about the batteries. It's a long walk."
FIVE Several years ago, we had an Intern who was
none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a
secretary and said, "I'm almost out of typing paper. What
do I do?" "Just use copier
machine paper," the secretary told her. With that, the
intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it
on the photocopier and proceeded to make five "blank"
copies.
SIX I was in a car dealership a while ago, when a large
motor home was towed into the garage. The front of the
vehicle was in dire need of repair and the whole thing
generally looked like an extra in "Twister." I asked the
manager what had happened. He told me that the driv-
er had
set the "cruise control" and then went in the back to
make a sandwich.
SEVEN My neighbor works in the operations depart-
ment in the central office of a large bank. Employees in
the field call him when they have problems with their
computers. One night he got a call from a woman in one
of the branch banks who had this question: "I've got
smoke coming from the back of my terminal. Do you
guys have a fire downtown?"
EIGHT Police in Radnor , Pa. interrogated a suspect
by placing a metal colander on his head and connect-
ing it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message
"He's lying" was placed in the copier, and police
pressed the copy button each time they thought the
suspect wasn't telling the truth. Believing the "lie detec-
tor" was working, the suspect confessed.
NINE A mother calls 911 very worried asking the dis-
patch er if she needs to take her kid to the emergency
room, the kid was eating ants. The dispatcher tells her to
give the kid some Benadryl and it should be fine.. The
mother says, I just gave him some ant killer

Driving DistractedBy: Dr. Jack
Aaaahh yesteryear, when the chrome was thick and
the white walls were bright, the roads were not so
congested and life was much simpler. Over the past
40 years vehicles have had a lot of safety related sys-
tems installed as standard equipment, but have you
noticed that with all of the safety improvements built
into today’s vehicles – some of us seem to be able to
defeat them?
I can remember when A.B.S. (anti-lock brakes) first
came out in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. I recall
hearing some of my customer’s say that their car had
anti-lock brakes and that meant they couldn’t hit
someone from behind or they could follow even clos-
er in traffic and not let anyone take their coveted
space. First of all, anti-lock brakes are not intended
to help you stop any quicker. The main function of
anti-lock brakes is to keep your tires from skidding
(100% slippage) so that you can steer around road
hazards. Some insurance companies give a discount
for vehicles equipped with A.B.S.
Anything that takes your eyes off the road or your
hands off the wheel is a distraction. Drivers need to
make sure they are completely focused on the task of
driving safely. Today’s vehicles have more safety ori-
ented technology than ever before, this includes blue-
tooth, hands-free cell phones, back-up cameras and
navigation technology (GPS). GM’s OnStar and
Ford’s Motor Co. Sync system are all aimed at help-
ing drivers stay safe on the road.
Are hands-free cell phones any safer than the tradi-
tional hand-held cell phone? Distractions come in
various forms. It could be your child dropping animal
crackers and gummy bears and you leaning to pick it
up or a distraction from a passenger.
THREE MAIN TYPES OF DISTRACTIONS ARE:VISUAL – Taking your eyes off the road, looking at
the screen of a navigational system or an incoming
text message.
MANUAL - Taking your hands off the wheel. Even
shifting a manual transmission can be a distraction for
some drivers. Touching the screen of a navigational
system or responding to a text.
COGNITIVE – Taking your mind off of what you are
doing. Probably the most dangerous of the three.
This leads to a lack of attention because your mind is
involved in another task. Did you ever go from Point
A to Point B and you don’t recall a single thing about
the trip?
According to the NHTSA 20% of injury crashes in
2009 involved reports of distracted driving.
Five Safe Driving Habits
• Aim high in steering – look ahead down the
road, not right in front of you.
• Get the big picture – stay back and take in
the view
• Keep your eyes moving – check side mirrors.
• Leave yourself an out – don’t tailgate.
• Make sure the other drivers see you – hand
signs, flashing lights or using the horn.
Dr. Jack’s note: Always wear your seat belt…It’s the
law. Moving forward….

bile industry, is an ASE Master Technician. Send com-

PET TIPS
Beware of Snakes!
Rattlesnake Roundup is good time to be remind-
ed that rattlesnakes (as well as water moccasins
and copperheads) are part of our lives! We share
our environment with them uneventfully, for the
most part. But, occasionally, in their efforts to pro-
tect themselves and their territory, a snake may
bite. That creates a medical emergency for peo-
ple, pets, and livestock.
There is a very good antivenin that can be given
when a snake bit occurs, but it’s expensive. There
are other medications that can and should also be
given, even if the cost of the antivenin is out of
budget. Antihistamines, antibiotics, tetanus, pain
medications, and diuretics can all help with com-
fort and healing, and greatly up the chances of
survival and recovery from a snake bite.
There is a Rattlesnake vaccine for dogs that will
help minimize the reaction and risk from rat-
tlesnake bites. It is much more economical that
the antivenin. Ask your vet about it.
